Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced Thursday an effort to rescue Floridians who are trying to leave Israel amid its war with Hamas terrorists.
The announcement by DeSantis, a Republican, is part of an executive order he signed to respond to Hamas terrorists’ surprise attack Saturday on Israel, which left hundreds killed, maimed, or kidnapped, according to a copy of the governor’s order....
DeSantis signed a document called Executive Order 23-208 (Emergency Management–Impacts of War in Israel).
“There are more than 20,000 Americans, including Floridians, in Israel who wish to return home but are unable to do so,” DeSantis said in a written statement.

Don’t know who you are talking about. Governor DeSantis is chartering planes to fly into Israel and bring home Floridians.
Sometimes it seems that Trump’s number one goal these days is to have large audiences cheering for him. Too many of his comments drive voters away. He cannot win with the votes of just the people who come to his rallies, or even plus the people who watch his rallies.

Trump didn’t undermine Israel. It was personally directed at Netanyahu who hadn’t been stellar in his support for his own people.
Netanyahu had only been back in power since 12-22. You don’t correct all the wrongs that were done before him overnight.

No one is getting out of Israel under the protection of a Governor no matter how well intentioned.
My wife’s cousin and her husband live in Sarasota. He got out yesterday on a State Department-arranged flight. He was told if they couldn’t get a jet into Ben Gurion they’d helicopter him (which proved to be unnecessary.)

I get the feeling the media is not going public because it releases scrutiny of the feds from doing anything in the public’s eye. So it doesn’t look like the failed work in Afghanistan, Korea, and other areas like in Iraq is being considered.
It is my understanding that there is only an estimation of Americans stranded over there. DeSantis is out of his league. The people he could send over there, and will intervene with federal operations, are not prepared to face as many as 10K Hamas military members in the GAZA well armed and funded by countries like Iraq that throws over $100M dollars a year to them. And since the military operations have started there’s no telling how many more have arrived. The only thing DeSantis is going to do is escalate the violence and get a lot of people killed if he sends troops. So he’s either talking big for nothing except maybe votes in 2024 or he’s a flat fool.

We know how to get things done here in Florida to protect our people. Not like the Federal government, which should have been on this right away - but wasn’t.
