Israel notified the United Nations that they should evacuate their staff and inform Palestinian civilians living north of Wadi Gaza that they should move south within the next 24 hours. Axios reported that it’s a sign a ground operation, which was expected, is about to begin soon. Once again, the IDF sets itself apart from the Hamas animals by warning civilians, instructing them where to go, and working to minimize the loss of innocent life (via Axios):

Yeah, like Hamas notified the UN last week before they launched their attack against Israel!
Dumb. Why give advance notice? I’ll never understand this. Our so called leaders do it all the time. In the case of the GOPe l think they do it so they will be prevented from the action they didn’t want to take in the first place. But this is different, l would not send the UN scumbags a damn thing until it was done.
We cleaned up your mess. Here’s the bill.
“Uh, NOPE! Why would you tell the u. friggin’ n. anything?”
Misinformation to see if the UN will go blabbing to Hamas. Which they will.
Moral superiority is my guess. WRONG!
🙏🇮🇱👍
I’m not questioning the decision, but a ground incursion will get ugly for both sides.
CQB negates technological advantages.
Israel is dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s of international law and daring the f**king UN to interfere. Hamas has no clue what they unleashed. Israel isn’t backing down on this one. Hamas better make their peace with Allah. They are going to need it.
Aloha Snackbar!
Probably start the attack sometime after sundown on Saturday.
I doubt that the attack would be on the Sabbath, even though that might be a good tactic.
Fly a bomb drone down the tunnel entrance. A confined big boom.
Pipe a little propane down it before. Big Boom.
I would think IED, RPG, and drones will be problems.
Of course sheer numbers of people as well.
Drop a penetrating bomb over tunnel. Big blast will kill for a mile.
I understand what you’re saying, we’re talking about different things.
Gaza is tightly populated with multi-story buildings.
If Israel is going in, attacks will come from top to bottom.
There is no singular solution.
Some FReeper can probably explain CQB issues better than I can.
One thing I noticed from the reports of the attack last Sat was that in a couple of places some Israelis did acquire weapons and fight back. It looks to me, based on what I can see, that when faced with even weak opposition the attackers were easily turned away.
These aren’t dedicated tough trained troops. These are thugs who prey on the defenseless.
“Israel is dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s of international law and daring the f**king UN to interfere....”
Glad to see someone gets it.
No matter what Israel does they’re going to be vilified by the world press. By doing things the way they are they leave little room for actual war crimes charges. No doubt someone will try, but Israel has beaten them to the punch.
