They are going to agree to letting a “Moderate” democrat be speaker. I hope Mr. Gaetz is proud of himself. We finally win back the House and then give it back to the democrats. And don’t give me the old ‘but McCarthy was a Rino’ crap he was a republican and set the agenda, decided what bills are moved forward and handled committee appointments. Now the democrats will set the agenda.

Any Republican teaming with Democrats to elect Speaker must lost his or her job.

There’s no difference between the RINOs and the Democrats, so if they’re set on a RINO, let the Democrats have the Speakership. Bunch of friggin’ surrender monkey RINOs.

Gaetz and his conspirators started this traitorous game with the Democrats.

This is the “bipartisanship” they are talking about.

The Republicans could easily do it. They just can’t have a RINO.

If the RINOs and Democrats want to OPENLY get in bed together....let them. It will make it that much easier to primary a bunch of the RINOs as the Assistant Democrats they truly are in 2024.

This is what the populist gang of eight GOP members have wrought, having joined with Dims to oust their own speaker and with no plan nor idea of a plan as to how - having but a slim minority in the GOP - they would elect another GOP speaker.

They - inspite of how few they are - want 93% of the GOP to go along with them while they do not want to go along with that 93%.

They may have ousted Kevin McCarthy but they have shown they are not leaders and are incapable of leading.

Their internal disagreements with their fellow GOP members should have remained at the level of individual bills, not over who would be speaker.

https://twitter.com/RepMTG/status/1712589051423756585 ... MTG is our Rep: "I stand with Israel, and I’ll be there. But our conference needs to call us to a vote for Speaker instead of creating photo ops while our leadership is too scared to go to the floor. They all have security details and we don’t. Tomorrow is Hamas jihad day. Are we going to drag this out and be forced to fly home when everyone’s security is at extremely high alert? Or are we going to be big boys and girls and vote for a Speaker?"

“...Maria Salazar (R-Fla.), a member of the moderate Republican Governance Group. “Bipartisanship is not a sin.”...”

Yes it is a sin, but one with a low IQ cannot process this like most of DC, we’ve got 35,000,000,000,000 reasons that says otherwise.

What you all need to recognize is that there are more Republicans in the House - maybe a lot more - who would vote for Hakeem Jeffries than would vote for Jim Jordan.

You cannot complain about the failures of a House with 350-400 liberal Members. You first have to A) abandon the idea that the Republican party can be a change agent; B) start a movement that can be active and successful in electoral politics; and C) elect 218+ (preferably 300+) committed Members of Congress and 51 (preferably 60) US Senators.

In a country like ours, riven with despair and under attack, this may not be as hard as it appears.

But first you have to give up any emotional attachment to the GOP, and then work to see it ground to dust.
