Bipartisan talk grows as GOP fails to find a speaker

Lawmakers in both parties are expressing growing openness, both in public and in private, to a bipartisan deal to elect a House speaker as Republicans are continually thwarted in their efforts to do it alone.

-----

What we're hearing: A bipartisan group of roughly ten House lawmakers is quietly holding "very" serious discussions, a moderate Republican involved in the discussions told Axios on the condition of anonymity.

"The question is who gets you to the largest minority of the majority," the GOP lawmaker said. "Is it Don Bacon, who gets 20 [GOP] votes and 200 Democrats? Is it French Hill who gets 100 votes from Republicans? And the fewer Republicans, the more dangerous this is – not just politically, but structurally."

____

"We're open to anything that's reasonable," said Rep. Maria Salazar (R-Fla.), a member of the moderate Republican Governance Group. "Bipartisanship is not a sin." Rep. Don Bacon (R-Neb.), a perennial bipartisan

Gaetz supporters knew the traitor wing of the GOP and their supporters would fight back. Still have to fight them or the good guys will never win.

No, you are the one spewing forth BS. Gaetz is guilty of trying to make the House of Representatives do their job, period.

They are doing nothing regarding the invasion along our borders, the mounting debt accumulation that is unsustainable, which both are leading to the total destruction of this nation.

You may be a news junkie, but you fail to understand what the heck is happening in this nation, because you are a news junkie who listens to cartel news organizations feeding you the BS that you are now regurgitating as facts. Some people just never catch on that they are suckers that keep being suckered and never realize that they are being suckered.

Wake up before reality chews you up & spits you out like the scum they see you as being.

UPDATE:

"4 Democratic centrists to McHenry: Let's make a deal"

In a letter to McHenry that was obtained by POLITICO, the Democrats floated giving him “temporary, expanded authorities” -- in exchange for concessions.

Those eight Republicans are patriots and principled conservatives, holding McCarthy accountable for breaking promises, specifically in regard to a side deal he made with Biden to keep funding the failed proxy war in Ukraine.

BTW, Pelosi assured McCarthy that the Democrats had his back. McCarthy assumed he was safe, because of the Democrats he thought were with him.

The Democrats were with McCarthy only to get they wanted him to provide exactly what Biden wanted, budget wise.

You are attacking & protecting the wrong people. Shame that you can't tell who is fighting for this nation, and who is fighting for the elites of the world & their desire to make us all serfs when they institute their One World Government.

The RINOs are not working for your best interests chump.

A group of about 10 representatives from both parties have held very serious discussions about a bipartisan deal to break the deadlock, per Axios news website. This could see Democrats back a moderate Republican as speaker in return for legislative or procedural concessions.

Did you REALLY think all of the Democrats voted with Gaetz to deliver a MORE conservative speaker?

At this point it’s all just rearranging deck chairs on The Titanic.

The iceberg, known as the federal debt, is looming close by. In a few years, maybe less, the federal debt will reach $40 trillion, with an annual debt service of $2 trillion, or twice the defense budget.

Neither party has the spine or ability to deal with it.

It's only when Republicans are in the majority that there's talk of ‘bipartisanship.’

Similar to Hamas calling for a cease fire.

Not this time, boys and girls. It's Jordan or nothing, and I can live with nothing.
