I’m guessing the firms support DEI only so long as they can hide them away from clients putting them in positions that aren’t really affected by their idiotic thought processes.

I think they do this so as not to lose their DEI-inclusive status and access to rising lawyer students who they really want working for them.

This one? Can’t possibly be of any real value to a legal business in my opinion/

why not? They do it in my trade. They hire someone (POC) and “train” them just enough to do the minimum (button pusher) then title them machinist. This keeps the EEOC people off their backs (gubmint contracts pays good). and they get a fairly worthless employee they cant fire, no matter what, but they get the DEI veneer.
