We’ll see. Lebanon has internal problems. Hezbullah is known from time to time to just let it be known they are still there. This is not very unusual though they did say they did it “in solidarity” it was more symbol than substance. They did direct hit some Israeli military targets which may mean they are more sophisticated technically and militarily. However, they could find themselves squashed from the north and south (and from above) if the Lebanese army were convinced, with the help of the people in Lebanon who want Hezbullah out and outside encouragement, to open a northern front against them while Israel pushed up from the south.

Russia will keep a lid on Syria, though rogue ISIS still roam around parts of the country.

West Bank Fatah/Palestinian Authority leadership has been quiet. They don’t like Israel very much, but they dislike Hamas even more so they probably have something to gain if Hamas is decimated... and Israel has been very well positioned defensively in that region. It’s been volatile this year, not like this Hamas atrocity... but I’ve heard of no news coming from the West Bank since Saturday. My guess is they are going to stand down too. Israel is pissed off and pushed past tolerance points. They can’t win unless they stay out.

Stupid arm chair general here but that seems correct.

Hezbullah is very, very good on defense, but offense is a different game.

“Hezbollah is depleted from the Syrian Civil War. Assad doesn’t need more problems.”

Who else hates Hamas (Muslim Brotherhood)?

The Governments of Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

As much as Iran might want everybody to rush in and get themselves killed for Iran’s sake, a lot of folks in the region would be content to sit out while Hamas is destroyed in detail.

The regimes in Turkey and Qatar would be saddened though.
