Talks underway to allow US citizens and Palestinians to leave Gaza, Israeli official says

Talks are underway to allow United States and Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip to exit the territory into Egypt ahead of any land invasion of the territory by Israeli forces, according to a senior Israeli official.

Under the proposal being discussed, all US citizens would be permitted to pass through the Rafah border crossing if they present their US passports, while the movement of other Palestinian civilians would be limited to 2,000 people a day, the official with knowledge of the negotiations told CNN on Wednesday.

Final approval of the arrangement would need to come from the Egyptians, who control the Rafah border crossing between Gaza and Egypt. The Israeli official said it was “in Israel’s interests” for as many Palestinians as possible to leave Gaza.

Some context: Airstrikes in Gaza have forced hundreds of thousands of people to flee their homes — but there is little room to go. Across the Middle East, Gaza is among the smallest and most densely packed cities.

Americans in Gaza who spoke with CNN have expressed fear and frustration about feeling that they are trapped without any safe route out of the region that is being heavily bombarded by Israeli forces.

There were reports that the only route of Gaza — via Egypt — was closed Tuesday due to strikes, and the threat of an Israeli ground incursion is looming.

Ironic how the Israelis helped Azerbaijan conquer Nogurno-Karabah which resulted in Armenians being ethnically cleansed just a few weeks ago, and now the Israelis are intent on ethnic cleansing Gaza or at the minimum “thinning” the population. Of course, they are getting the US involved in their scheme so that the anger will be partially shifted from them to the US. Undoubtedly, all those Palestinians with US passports will end up here probably along with thousands of others. Here they may very well team up with Hamas and other radicals whom the Biden regime has allowed to flow into the country through the open border.

I would be willing to bet they’re dual citizens that live in Israel.

Egypt doesn’t want the Palestinians. Kuwait got rid of them in 1991. From wikipedia: “...During a single week in March, the Palestinian population of Kuwait had almost entirely been deported out the country. Kuwaitis said that Palestinians leaving the country could move to Jordan, since most Palestinians held Jordanian passports.[9] According to the New York Times, Kuwaitis said the anger against Palestinians was such that there was little chance that those who had left during the seven-month occupation could ever return and relatively few of those remaining will be able to stay...”

Maybe Iran will take them.

Don’t bring the Gazans here.

These are the exact type of people this administration wants to import to America.

That movement will no doubt save civilian lives, but the delay will cost the Israel military more lives. For maximum effect the IDF should be fully engaged with the enemy now.

“Notice all these Muslim countries who lick the ass of Palestinians and NONE of them want to take any of them in..Jordan, Egypt, LeBanon, etc etc, they love Palestineans so much they can have them but they wont”

Let Governor Abbott run the plan and they will all be in Egypt by tomorrow.

Egypt will want to mobilize a quarantine zone and establish humanitarian aid operations (most likely paid for by US and EU taxpayers) to shelter and feed these people. 2000 a day? That’s a trickle. 1000 days to evacuate Gaza if the population estimates are correct (they may be exaggerated). Assuming Egypt allows it, the Gazans will bum rush the border or cross over using the water and not wait 1000 days.

And then, they will have no place to go back to.

An aside, there has been offers made over the years to lease 100’s of miles of Sinai land, adjacent to Gaza, to alleviate overcrowding and develop airport and seaport and industry etc. Nobody ever went for it.

Throughout history the so called Palestinians have been run out of every territory they tried to settle (Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, and ?). Poor Israel got stuck with them.

Israel’s first step should be to see the border area in Gaza next to Egypt. Shut down those tunnels.
