You don’t have one. There is money laundering going on. Sure. Ukraine has a long-standing history of corruption, which it contracted from the Soviet Union. That is their deep state, and it is in partnership with the American deep state. But there is also intense fighting going on utilizing the kit that the US, EU and UK have provided.
To mischaracterize the existential struggle of a nation as nothing but a “money-laundering” is a gross distortion. You’ll recall that the first one to provide Ukraine with lethal force was Donald J. Trump. Was he “laundering money,” too?
Scalise has called for an audit. I’m all for an audit. Jordan has called for a complete cut-off of aid. I’m opposed to that.
The last I heard from Rep. Jordan, in his interview with Greta Van Susteren I think (not sure), he indicated pretty strong opposition to letting Pooty run amok (Star Trek reference - my wording) in Eastern Europe, but demands Biden tell us what the heck the mission is, as opposed to vaguely explained “forever” sending of money, and, he wants better accounting of where the money goes.
Now, this whole focus on the money is a bit disingenuous, because most of US aid has been in the form of weaponry, a lot of it older weaponry not that far from scrapping anyway, and a lot of the real value, whatever it is, is in the bigger weapons. Undoubtedly some smaller weapons do get smuggled out of Ukraine and sold, much to the displeasure of most Ukrainians(!), but there is simply NO evidence that the pricey stuff, like HIMARS, tanks, or howitzers are being trotted off to Africa or wherever to the highest bidder. Until someone can find solid evidence of such activity, such accusations are total BS.
If, say, 15% of what’s sent is “corrupted”, given the magnitude of what’s at stake, only if it makes the difference in whether or not Pooty’s Russia is stopped or not am I hugely concerned. There are far greater issues at hand.*
If part of that 15% got back to the Biden crime syndicate, yes, that’s a big problem, because it would affect his policies. But, again, unless someone can come up with actual solid evidence of current (or since 2020) monies flowing back to Biden (in which case I say turn him over to some average Ukrainian soldiers to be disposed of), people are just spouting their own discreditation.
*Maybe it’s our education system? People just don’t seem to “get” what a breakdown of order in Europe would mean. We can see in the Middle East what US weakness or perceived US weakness can and and may be leading to. Europe, given a little time, is far more dangerous.
