The Hezbollah terror group in Lebanon took responsibility on Tuesday evening for firing anti-tank missiles across the border with Israel, raising fears of the war with Hamas broadening to the northern front, Arab media reported.
An IDF combat helicopter responded by attacking a Hezbollah post.
“The IDF is prepared for all scenarios in all arenas, and will continue to operate in order to protect Israeli civilians,” stated the military.
Earlier on Tuesday, the IDF attacked two Hezbollah observation posts in Southern Lebanon with artillery fire after terrorists there fired rockets at the Jewish state.

This was inevitable. I look for this to explode on the northern front very shortly after Israel sends ground troops into Gaza.
Not good. Hezbollah is Iran. When the Israelis move into Gaza they may as well go into the West Bank as well. Hezbollah will erupt in coordination with Hamas. That puts the US strike force off the coast in direct confrontation with Iran. For goodness sake, when Iran is attacked, let the Israelis do it.

It is a big stick telling the Arab nation to stay out of this. Iran and the Arabs will, as they always do, support their proxies, they are not going to risk open war with the US for Gaza.
What the US is doing, like it has repeatedly done, is try to contain the problem rather then risk a wider war breaking out.
We have more reason to go to war with Mexico than Iran.

Iran has the fissile material for an atomic weapon. It is said it is only at 66% purity. If they can make 66% they can easily make 90% plus for an atomic bomb. One must assume they have. They have good scientists and engineers and also cooperate with North Korea which has functioning designs. They can do it.
Israel has enough nuclear weapons to destroy Iran as a functioning nation. Israel also has the Sampson option as part of their military philosophy. If a nuke is dropped on Israel they will destroy the enemy with thermonuclear weapons and those that aid the enemy. Israel has a triad of delivery systems, air, seaborne, and missiles. Israel can absorb a first strike and be devastated but still destroy the enemy.
If the strike force does what it’s supposed to, show the flag and deter the Iranians, fantastic. If that bluff doesn’t work and the Iranians go all in, God help us. Last weekend the iron dome was overwhelmed and compromised by 5000 missiles. Iran has the capability, I fear, to overwhelm the various Aegis systems. I’m regularly shocked by our military’s incompetence anymore. WWIII could be for the aircraft carrier what WWII was for battleships.
