I think this may have been some MAJOR miscalculations by Hamas.
Hamas apparently got its answer from Israel, which was NO DICE (something that I could have told them).
So now they’re going to the Biden’s bunch and want Biden to demand and threaten Israel to stop. A logical second choice and it’s likely that Biden is already demanding and threatening Israel as we type. But given the images of what they did to civilians, and especially babies, and the fact that Biden hates them anyway, Israel is in no mood to listen to Biden and they will do what they think is needed to complete the job (think Putin’s situation in Ukraine...same thing). They’ll then deal with Biden when they’re done. So, NO DICE.
Next stop will be Russia, to get them to threaten us with World War 3 if we don’t stop Israel. They’ll have a discussion with Putin, but no, Putin won’t take the bait, as he knows that the Neocons DESPERATELY want World War 3 (why else start the war in Ukraine?), PLUS he knows that Israel will not listen to him anyway. This is not 1973, so that gambit won’t work - Putin will politely tell them NO DICE.
Hamas will next have to try to bring in other countries (Iran, Egypt, Jordan, Syria). Egypt and Jordan are not interested in having another war against Israel, Syria’s got their own major war to worry about and so adding a front will not help them, and Iran’s distance makes it hard for them to attack without major planning. So, NO DICE here also.
In the end, Hamas made their bed, and will likely have to sleep in it.
Depending on whether Hamas has taken Russian hostages, Putin may send them their No Dice message on the nose of bombs delivered by Bear or Backfire bombers.
