WASECA, Minn. — The nation’s largest Muslim civil rights organization filed a lawsuit last week against the federal women’s prison in Waseca for violating the Religious Freedom Restoration Act.
The Washington, D.C.-based Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) complaint against the prison requests declaratory and injunctive relief for an incarcerated Somali-American Muslim woman who was photographed after her hijab was removed, then forced to carry that photo on her ID card.
“Mrs. (Muna) Jama was often threatened if she did not comply with orders to remove her hijab — including threats to cut off her communication with her children,” CAIR legal fellow Aya Beydoun stated in a press release. “The hijab is a sacred part of Mrs. Jama’s identity and her connection to God. No one should be forced to choose between their faith and the ability to speak to their children.”

She can always be shipped to a country where they’ll stone her for her crimes.
Screw CAIR.
Wrong! Islam is not Sacred. It incorporates incorrectly the Idea of the Sacred which it bowwowed from Judaism and Christianity, and them co-opted it, and used it to justify the creation of a ruthless and murderous ideology that appeals to and energizes the very basest and cruelest human instincts to drive men to slaughter and conquest. Ban the hijab nationwide. When Christians and Jews can walk around Mecca with Crosses and Magen David’s, she can put it back on. While you’re at it ban CAIR in the Land of the Free. America is the antithesis of Islam, which means: Slavery. “Submission” my ass! Their claim that Islam teaches a loving submission to “Allah” is a Lie. It’s not submission when a sword is coming down on your neck.
I suspect it actually comes from other religious traditions:
1 Corinthians 11:2-6
2 I praise you[a] because you remember me in everything and maintain the traditions just as I passed them on to you. 3 But I want you to know that Christ is the head of every man, and the man is the head of a woman,[b] and God is the head of Christ. 4 Any man who prays or prophesies with his head covered disgraces his head. 5 But any woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered disgraces her head, for it is one and the same thing as having a shaved head. 6 For if a woman will not cover her head, she should cut off her hair. But if it is disgraceful for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, she should cover her head.
It’s rare to see Christian women (non Orthodox) wear a head coverings today, but it was fairly common when I was a child.
That seems to refer to women praying, not being photographed while incarcerated. Or any other time. Modesty and humility are important of course, but taken to extremes like Muslims do with their women is unsupported anywhere, I think.
Correct. I just suspect the whole head covering thing is older that Islam. Muslims draw on multiple sources to twist into an incoherent belief system.
Ancient Egyptians left depictions of other Middle Easterners wearing head coverings. Good for masking blowing desert dust. There are Old Testament passages noting the wearing of head covering as a symbol of mourning or repentance.
‘Civil rights’
IOW either anti-American, anti-white or both.
ANOTHER TARGET SELF—IDENTIFIED.
The four major Sunni schools of thought (Hanafi, Shafi'i, Maliki and Hanbali) hold by consensus that it is obligatory for women to cover their hair, and the entire body except her face and hands, while in the presence of people of the opposite sex other than close family members.
Do they let Sikh prisoners carry their required ceremonial daggers in prison? No? Next!!
