Just a day after Hamas launched a wave of terror against Israeli civilians, Iranian officials brought out the Palestinian flag during a football match at the country's national stadium.
Hundreds of Iranian football fans have objected to the Palestinian flag appearing at a match in Tehran on Sunday with chants to “shove the flag up you’re a**!”
During a game between football clubs Persepolis and Gol Gohar at the country’s national football stadium, operatives of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) attempted to rally support for the Palestinian cause by waving Palestinian flags on the pitch.
Instead of sympathy, the Basij – one of the five forces of the IRGC – was met with chants from fans in the stands to “shove that Palestinian flag up your a**!"
Footage of the incident went viral on social media.
One X/Twitter user commented: “The Iranian people are incredibly heroic, God protect them from their miserable oppressors.”
Another said the act of defiance represented, “the bright light of hope”, while a third user said: “True Iranians will always support Israel! The Islamic republic is an occupying force.”
The backfired ploy came just one day after the terror group Hamas launched a land, air, and sea invasion on the Jewish state, killing at least 700 Israelis, many of them civilians, and kidnapping scores more.
Iranian government officials congratulated Hamas on its surprise attack early Saturday morning. The Iranian regime has long supported Hamas and other militant Palestinian and anti-Israel groups.
Under The Shah, Iran and Israel were friends.
Make Iran Persia Again!
Bomb them
This is what would happen here if we ever gave up our guns. I feel so sad for the Iranian people.
Both had the strongest military forces in the ME at that time.
Profound statement. Made me think a long way back to Kings Cyrus, Darius and Ahasuerus. Each in his own way championed Jews.
The Shah was better than the Ayatollahs, but lets not forget that the Shah participated in the 1973 oil embargo.
Nothing new - Some in Scotland support German Nazi party during WWII.

Celtic supporters are mostly Irish, and Catholic. And many sympathize with the IRA, who we know go way back with the Palis.
Their Glasgow rivals, Rangers, are the Protestant team. And when they play each other, there are always fights.
The Shah also allowed us a strategic listening post to keep tabs on the Soviet empire during the Cold War.
Thanks to Jimmuh Cahtuh f ing up .Thay was the pivotal act.
Telling the current Iranian authorities where to put the Palistinian flag is indeed a brave statement by ordinary Iranian citizens and sports fans. Unfortunately it appears the Irish have the opposite view in this conflict. Sadly it also illustrates how long ago cruelty can influence events even down to the present time.
Early last century the Soviets deliberately starved 3 million Ukranians to death. Since Putin is displaying similar cruelty now, Ukranians are not about to forgive and forget and will fight to the end. In Iran, while the Shah had a nasty secret police, his rule was not so all controlling as the current regime. He did not make war on women for trifles like hair style. The Iranian people are consequently supporting Israel. In Ireland the British through rampant capitalism and human indifference established conditions which led to the terrible potatoe famine even earlier than our own Civil war, and almost a century before the terrible Ukranian Holdomodor (starvation). In our own South the memories of war terror like the burning of Atlanta only 2 decades after the Irish potatoe famine still are causing bitterness among some. Even though the cause, ending slavery, was both moral and Christian, that bitterness still can influence our politics,
It is time for our politicians, of both parties, to make common cause to preserve our own liberties against the dangerous policies and plans of Putin and Islamic terrorists. Get busy and elect a Speaker of the House who recognizes that to support both Israel and Ukraine are worth the cost. Ending Putin’s WAR and Hammas’s TERORISM must be acted on quickly before the results become even more dire and directly threaten our own country, the USA.

Sorry about the double comment. Sometimes my Chromebook misbehaves.
Yep, talk about fubar ala Carter-I was a forward observer for an artillery unit assigned near the Czech border from 76-78. Half the M-109 howitzers in the unit couldn’t move and the other half couldn’t fire their guns because of a lack of relatively inexpensive spare parts like diesel engine glow plugs and firing pins. Thanks to the peanut farmer cutting the military budget to the bone.
There's truth in this... Think how horrible our lives would be if Hillary, John Kerry and their friends had absolute power over us. Yes, there would be 're-education camps' and midnight knocks... and worse. That's how the Iranian people have to live. One more reason we need to fight the home grown totalitarians here.
Per Google Translate:
آن پرچم فلسطین را بالا بزن.
It’s possible that 90% of the population in Iran is pro-Western but it doesn’t matter as long as the secret police backs the regime and the population is disarmed.
