KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim says that Malaysia remains in solidarity with the struggles of the people of Palestine.
The Prime Minister also criticised the international community for their one-sided action over the issue of cruelty and oppression against Palestinians.
"As a result of this injustice, hundreds of innocent lives have been victims," the Prime Minister posted on X on Sunday (Oct 8).
Earlier, Malaysia said that the root causes of the current violence in the Gaza Strip must be acknowledged.
"Palestinians have been subjected to the prolonged illegal occupation, blockade and suffering, the desecration of Al-Aqsa as well as the politics of dispossession at the hands of Israel as the occupier," said the Foreign Ministry in a statement on Sunday (Oct 8).

There are about 20 million Muslims (and 13 million non-Muslims) in Malaysia. In other words slightly more Muslims than there are in Russia.
The largest Muslim population is in Pakistan, followed by Indonesia, India, Bangladesh, and Nigeria.
Malaysia is well down the list. But some semiconductor manufacturers have invested a lot of money there.

I was in Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur) for a little over 3 weeks in 1974, working for Texas Instruments. It was a very nice place back then. Everyone spoke perfect English.

1. The US is no longer energy independent and must go to the international market to buy its physical contacts (barrels of oil). If there is another oil embargo things will get tight.
Note: Leases have to be renegotiated, equipment needs to be purchased (don't forget Black Rock, et al., are minimizing loans to fossil fuel companies), rigs erected, and pipelines built from rigs to the pipeline grid. This takes months and months for entities interested in success. For entities not interested in success it will take much longer. Biden and Green/Climate Change supporters have destroyed much in 2.5 years.
2. For political reasons, Biden emptied the Strategic Reserve (about 17 days left).
3. Biden knowingly gave billions of dollars to Iran/Hamas/Hezbollah. How many weapons were purchased with those dollars and from where (Afghanistan, Ukraine)?
4. How many terrorists have crossed the southern border. This attack on Israel was longtime in planning. Expect the worst. Is the FBI up to the task or are they too busy looking for MAGA Extremists?

Saudi Arabia’s condemnation/victim blaming of Israel was far too fast not to have been prepared and known in advance. Even before significant counter attacks, while horrific pictures of murders, rapes, executions and indiscriminate attacks on civilians were being blasted arond the globe, KSA’s statement was a signal to the rest of the world: “Ignore the terrorism of Palestinians, this is Israel’s fault. No matter how horrible it looks, attack Israel”. And attack they do. Imagine that, KSA acting as a moral compass for the eastern world. In part, this could be seen as retribution for Biden destroying the USA’s relationship with KSA.
