GREENEVILLE, S.C. – Presidential candidate Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., does not think that 2024 polling reflects the current state of the heated GOP race, shaking off recent surveys that show him in 3rd place.
A recent Suffolk University survey for USA Today and the Boston Globe suggested that while former President Donald Trump remains the front-runner in the race, former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley now leads DeSantis by 9 percentage points, 19% to 10%.
When asked about recent polling, DeSantis told Fox News Digital that he believes voters are still "on the fence."
"I don't think any of it matters," DeSantis told reporters at a recent campaign event. "You've got to put yourself in a position to have the type of infrastructure needed to do well when the voting starts. But what's going to happen is none of the polls are going to matter when people start voting. That's what's going to determine everything."
DeSantis also suggested that while Trump maintains a lead in most national surveys, he isn't banking on the numbers to hold at the polls.
"I think at the end of the day, a majority of people have not made a decision," the Florida governor told Fox News Digital exclusively during a visit to Greenville, South Carolina. "So if you're polling someone, and you push them, well if they're kind of on the fence and they know Trump more than anyone, they're more likely to do that."
"If you really pull down, half the electorate is up for grabs in these states, and we're going to earn the votes in all of those states. We have the organization, we have the work ethic, and we have the message to be able to get it done," he continued.

DeSantis brushes off 2024 polling, suggests Trump only leading because 'people have not made a decision'
Someone has meatballs for brains if he thinks people haven’t made a decision. I’ve made two: 1.) Trump, 2.) Never DeSantis
Okay then.
It’s just a flesh wound
I hate to have to say it but...
If not, Mister Trump would feel secure enough to not be ducking debates (especially including a one v one with RDS); and wouldn't be holding simultaneous events, to distract GOPers and Indies from watching debates.
That’s just funny.
Someone get the hook, this doofus is done....
Just wait until interest rates hit 10% next year. Just in time tor the election.
These comments are a bad look for him. He comes across as delusional.
Well you gotta spin it some way I suppose
“I think at the end of the day, a majority of people have not made a decision,”
_______________
The whole purpose of polling is to gather that exact data. To see who is undecided and who is not undecided and what the decision is when decided.
To say a majority haven’t made a decision is not supported by the polling data. And if the data deviates from actual votes, some vote fraud or polling fraud occurred.
Trump is certainly not acting like a man who is leading in the polls by 50 points.
I suspect Trump, like DeSantis, also knows the polls are BS.
The ship is only lower in the water because water is infiltrating the hull- all is well- all is well
DeNial said what today?
There were debates? I only saw a couple of clown shows where idiots shared how quickly they wanted to start WWIII with Russia.
Trump’s afraid to debate or doesn’t think he needs to. He better rethink because I’m looking for a viable alternative this time, but doubt Desantis is it.
A serious candidate don’t waste time on clown at a clown show.
For decades Conservatives have bitched about the stacked deck against them at these “debates”. The 1st two this year proved Trump exactly correct in avoiding these GOP-E staged clown shows.
Another purpose of polling is to gaslight people into believing something that isn't true.
FReepers who have never believed a poll in their lives are eating up every poll that shows Trump winning.
Wait until after the primaries are over and Trump clinches the nomination. Then we'll see the real polling.
