A man who is accused of plotting to kidnap and kill Holly Willoughby had contacted a hitman in the US to murder the star and had weapons stashed in his home, a court heard today.
Gavin Plumb, 36, from Harlow, Essex, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with soliciting to commit murder and incitement to commit kidnap of the 42-year-old This Morning star.
While Holly’s house is reportedly being guarded by police, the father-of-one appeared in the dock at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court today.
Plumb worked as a kitchen assistant at Pizza Hut between 2011 and 2012, according to his LinkedIn.
Today, Plumb spoke in court only to confirm his name. He was reprimanded in custody and will appear before the city’s crown court on November 3.
The suspect is not known to Holly, it has been reported, and ITV bosses were alerted to the alleged plot on Thursday morning, leaving Josie Gibson and Alison Hammond to host This Morning together as Holly pulled out, shortly before she was due to go on air.

Holly is the anchor of "This Morning".
Her co-anchor was Phillip Schofield who recently got fired for having an affair with a younger male colleague.

There’s really something wrong with this article. If he truly were “repremanded” in custody, the article should explain his infraction while in custody that resulted in such treatment. I suspect, however, that he was “remanded”, ie, not allowed bail. The use of the term “repremanded” implies something more sinister occurred.
Things are going to get worse as graduates from our illustrious academies, both here and abroad, are not required to be proficient in the language they use to communicate.

More seriously, the article never says what his possible motivation would have been. Why her? Where did Mr. Plump get the money to finance importing a Hit Man from America?
That talk show has been in the news a few months back, when her on air partner was discovered to have a gay lover, several years younger than himself. He was pilloried in the press. I was surprised at how “shocked and devastated” the viewers were said to have been about it. I thought Europeans would be more blase about such pecadilloes.
