Donald Trump on Friday won an appeals court postponement of a New York ruling that had the potential to cripple his business operations in the state.
In a brief written order signed by Justice Peter H. Moulton, a state appeals court temporarily halted the cancellation of Trump’s business certificates that have allowed him to operate in New York.

I have yet another dumb question: If there was a problem with the valuations, why wasn’t this ever raised during one of PDJT’s bankruptcy proceedings?
Why cancel the business licenses if the judge had decided to deprive the Trump family of control of their company? This judge is plainly being vindictive. Appeals are intended to address errors below, not wilful misconduct. Trumps lawyers should have moved for recusal, and then appealed the expected denial of that decision by prerogative writ if necessary. That is how the system was intended to work, but lawyers loathe to file that motion because they expect payback the next time they appear in that judge’s court room.
BREAKING: NY Appeals Court stops Judge Engoron’s ruling that forced Trump organization to cancel business certificates and appoint receivers
Civil trial can still proceed
This is a very humiliating ruling for AG Letitia James and Judge Engoron https://t.co/TcQB4b52hb— DC_Draino (@DC_Draino) October 6, 2023
We thank the Appellate Division for staying the NY Attorney General’s and Judge Engoron’s overzealous attempt to cancel our New York business certificates. Judge Engoron’s order erroneously sought to adjudicate the rights of non-party business entities that employ nearly 1,000 hard-working New Yorkers, have never been accused of any wrongdoing and, were never given their day in court – in clear violation of their fundamental Constitutional rights and Due Process. We will continue to vigorously defend our company and our incredible employees from this politically-motivated persecution.

Well said. Glad there was some sanity found today. Need more of it.
If all of these loans were paid back according to the terms of the loans, who was harmed / aggrieved by his actions?
They will not manage to liquidate Trumps assets.
Because if they succeed in doing such an act of folly, America would be no better than Russia.
It would mean that as soon as the Government dislikes someone they just take what’s his, puts him in prison, and throw away the key.
I don’t believe America will sink that low. Its unthinkable.
Could be normalcy bias, but I hope you are right.
