Weather disasters fueled by climate change -- from floods to droughts, storms to wildfires -- sparked 43.1 million child displacements from 2016 to 2021, the UN Children's Fund warned Thursday, slamming the lack of attention paid to victims.
Statistics on internal displacements caused by climate disasters generally do not account for the age of the victims.
But UNICEF worked with the non-governmental Internal Displacement Monitoring Center to unpick the data and reveal the hidden toll on children.
Ninety-five percent of those displacements were caused by floods and storms.
The data reflect the number of displacements and not the number of children affected, as the same child could be uprooted more than once.
The figures do not allow for a distinction between those evacuated before a weather event, and those forced to leave in the wake of a disaster.

Then do wars caused by political regimes.
Then do religious conflicts and violence.
I’m betting this is 95% of necessary “children” refugees, versus climate events (that they’re labeling, for political reasons, as man-made climate change.)
I am glad that the left has adopted the term “climate change” over “global warming”.
Global warming just isn’t accurate. Climate change on the other hand is. The climate does/is constantly changing.
All you have to do is to remember that “climate change” just means “weather”. Not alarming at all unless you live in extreme weather related areas. (Your fault).
Is living in Florida worth the risk of hurricanes? YOU decide.
Is living in Kansas or other tornado prone areas? YOU decide.
Is living in Phoenix or Saudi Arabia or other extremely hot areas worth the risks and discomfort? YOU decide.
Is living in rural Alaska or Northern Canada worth the freezing temperatures, the snow, and Grizzly bears? YOU decide.
In any event, its all just “weather”/nature. Always has been and will continue to be so, just WEATHER.
