Donald Trump Endorses Pro-Life Congressman Jim Jordan for House Speaker
Life News ^ | October 6, 2023 | Steven Ertelt

Former President Donald Trump endorsed pro-life Republican Rep. Jim Jordan’s bid for Speaker of the House early on Friday.

“He will be a GREAT Speaker of the House, & has my Complete & Total Endorsement!” Trump posted.

“Just had a great conversation with President Trump about the Speaker’s race,” Congressman Troy Nehls posted on Twitter Thursday evening. “He is endorsing Jim Jordan, and I believe Congress should listen to the leader of our party. I fully support Jim Jordan for Speaker of the House.”

Jordan launched a campaign to become Speaker of the House just one day after Kevin McCarthy was ousted.

Jordan, the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, is a solid pro-life advocate who has spoken up about the weaponization of the Justice Department against pro-life Americans.

McCarthy announced he is not running again, which has set off a furious campaign to replace him. Importantly for Jordan is that he appears to have support from Republican Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz, who filed the motion to vacate the chair Monday night, which then picked up the support of Democrats and resulted in McCarthy losing his speakership.

Jordan has a 100% prolife voting record in Congress and recently castigated Democrats for supporting abortions up to birth and infanticide. He recalled former Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam (D-VA), who endorsed infanticide.

“We all know in 2019, then-Gov. Northam of the state of Virginia stated this: ‘The infant would be delivered, the infant would be kept comfortable, the infant would be resuscitated if that’s what the mother and the family desired, and then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mother,’” Jordan said, adding, “it is simple. Infants born alive following an abortion are kids, are children. All newborns deserve the same level of care.”

“Taking the life of unborn children right up to their birthday, and then as Gov. Northam has pointed out, even after that,” Jordan said, adding “we want to make sure that ‘even after that’ part never happens.”

Jordan recently sent a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray about a recently-leaked memo from the Bureau’s office in Richmond, Virginia, that linked “radical-traditionalist Catholics” with threats of domestic extremism.

The news came days after CatholicVote President Brian Burch sent a letter to Jordan asking him to further investigate the FBI over the “anti-Catholic” memo.

Chairman Jordan’s letter demanded answers about the FBI’s “targeting of a set of Catholic Americans for their religious beliefs,” Fox News reported:

“The Committee on the Judiciary is continuing to examine the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s handling of domestic violent extremism [DVE] investigations,” Jordan wrote. …Jordan said he and committee Republicans have written to the FBI “several times” over the last year about “startling allegations that the FBI is misusing DVE resources for apparent political purposes.”

Jordan’s letter was co-signed by House Subcommittee on the Constitution and Limited Government Chairman Rep. Mike Johnson, R-LA.

In his previous testimony in July, Wray deployed a familiar Washington trick: He sought to put the issue to rest by claiming that there is an “ongoing investigation.” In this case, the phrase du jour is “internal review.” This is to say that the FBI is investigating itself.

“It was a single product by a single field office in Richmond,” Wray assured Jordan in his testimony before the House. However, Wray has blocked the House Judiciary Committee from interviewing the relevant agents in that field office in Virginia. Now that the unredacted memo shows the FBI operation against Catholics was larger than Wray claimed, we have a real scandal on our hands.

“Do you think priests should be informants inside the Church, Director?” Jordan asked Wray incredulously during that hearing. Jordan did not appear amused by Wray’s arrogant performance, nor was he reassured by Wray’s promise to investigate himself. The indefatigable Jim Jordan saw right through Wray’s obfuscation, and the evidence now proves that Jordan was correct in his skepticism of the FBI. Wray claimed to be “aghast” at the incident, yet given his eagerness to minimize and even mischaracterize what happened, he can hardly be considered a partner to the House Judiciary Committee in finding the truth.

I never called you anything. Please re read my post. I was very careful to call out behavior only.

Again you continue to take history, and now to include challenge posts like mine, to pick and choose what to focus on. Where you have determined trump and Hillary are current friends defies me. It isn’t currently ( and understand i wrote Currently not in the past) a relationship of friendship in any shape or form unless they are behind the scenes that no one is privy to.

I’m worried that you feel so threatened by trump that you’d do almost anything to destroy him. I hope this opinion isn’t correct. But you and a few others are truly out of bounds on several things. I ignore most but not this time.

Used it to achieve aims may not be ideal or desired even. But it sure doesn’t make him Uni Party. Hopefully we can agree to disagree here.

Jordan must use ALL levers of power to:

Dude the speaker can accomplish those things in the house but the senate will not take them up. Even if they did they would need a veto prof majority to become law. We need to focus on getting rid of the turtle.

Don't set the bar impossibly high for Jorden.

I would use this vote as a reference in the future, guys. I don’t think selling out Americans is a “conservative” value...Jordan is an actor. Notice the words “non-controversial” used in a vote to sell out American workers. Look at the Ohio peeps, Kumbaya. I’m looking at you too, Matt Gaetz. This is the method used in their duplicity.

“This was a vote to pass H.R. 1044 (116th) in the House. This vote was taken under a House procedure called “suspension of the rules” which is typically used to pass non-controversial bills. Votes under suspension require a 2/3rds majority. A failed vote under suspension can be taken again.”

We will agree to disagree, as am concerned he was willing to use that power to restrict a fundamental right.

n.b. - I’ve fired a weapon with a bump stock and not my cup of tea. It’s the issue of classifying a part as essentially a machine gun. That takes lots of administrative power to do.

"Gaetz blocked McCarthy and nominated Jordan instead back in January when the Congress first convened. Trump is the one who rammed McCarthy through."

That's "President Trump" to you, moRonlim. By the way, Gaetz also nominated President Trump!

Trump has previously backed McCarthy so I think this endorsement ought to raise some red flags

Just food for thought, what if Trump, Jordan and the 8, worked in unison to overthrow McCarthy?

Something like this is no longer possible in 2023. The NSA and 5 Eyes exists for a reason and it ISN'T to catch human traffickers, drug smugglers or Middle Eastern terrorists.

It's purpose is to spy on threats to the Uniparty and spoil their plans.

And Trump only got one (1) vote! He's probably still seething.

Why would it be sad for me, I've been criticizing McCarthy, and Trump's support for him, since day one. This is just another example of Trump's horrible personnel choices, by forcing McCarthy on us all along, more than anything. Right in the middle of Gaetz forcing the motion to vacate, Trump was out there tweeting on his site why can't we all just get along!

The choice of Jordan is a no brainer, at this point, so Trump gets no credit for that, but Trump mouthpiece Stave Bannon was on his show this morning attacking Jordan left and right. That's probably how team Trump actually feels. Jordan isn't nearly in lockstep with Trump as McCarthy was, which is why Trump has always wanted McCarthy, instead.

It’s sad for you because you know this is a great win for Trump and you don’t like Trump winning.

Trump supporters are enjoying this so much and that makes you sad too - so you look for an anti-Trump angle “Trump supported McCarthy”.

So what - I voted for McCain and Romney. We often have to support the lesser of two evils - that’s politics - it’s the rational thing to do.

I’m sorry your side isn’t having a good day - go home and have a glass of wine and watch an uplifting movie or something to get your mind off the fact that Trump scored more points this week.
