TULSA, Okla. − Tulsa Regional Chamber is studying up on growing northeast Oklahoma.
Leaders are learning from the city of Austin, Texas.
More than 100 leaders from Tulsa and Green Country are participating in the chamber’s 14th intercity visit.
Elected officials, including Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum, public officials, business leaders and chamber leaders are learning best practices over the three-day event.
They are also hearing success stories about what has worked for Austin.
And from the article: "Previous intercity visits include major cities such as Pittsburgh, Indianapolis and Denver."
I remember when he went to Denver. He went to find out how to solve Tulsa's growing "homeless" (i.e., addicts and alcoholics living in the streets) problem.
What we found out was Denver was giving their scum bus tickets to Tulsa. What an idiot.
Too funny!
Yeah, right. That’s what we want...Tulsa to turn into a liberal rats nest. What an IDIOT!
” Leaders are learning from the city of Austin, Texas.”
No frigging way! Austin is a very nice city, decorated by leftist faggots, but a liberal hellhole!
My thoughts exactly.
Just like every other big city in the US of A.
Success? Name those “successes.” What nonsense. Austin is the liberal hub of Texas, nothing works there. Police are fleeing, crime is rampant, what nonsense. And you want to import this to Oklahoma? Liberalism truly is a mental disease.
Bet that took all of 10 minutes.
yes, this seems an odd story.
We keep hearing how Austin is the San Francisco of Texas and other such less than flattering descriptions of the changes in Austin.
Maybe Austin officials could learn something from Tulsa’s leaders? Rather than the other way around?
....at first I thought this was another Babylon Bee article, but......yeah, sure....come to The Peoples’ Democratic City of Austin to find out how a once great city became a liberal sh*thole in a very short time....gee; ya wonder why Austin’s suburbs have seen phenominal growth over just the past few years....?? defund the police; hold extravagant gay pride [sic] celebrations, etc, etc.....
I went to UT 1988-1990. Wonderful university and city. Went back two years ago. What a pit. San Francisco right here in central Texas.
Mr. Bynum, a former lobbyist who has been mayor of Tulsa, Oklahoma’s second-largest city, since 2016, is reeling politically from multiple angles, including the repercussions from hosting the president’s rally during the pandemic and his struggles to find his footing as the white mayor of a city where Black activism is surging.
IOW, a squish.
BTW, I live in rural Oklahoma and visit Tulsa fairly often. It is left leaning for a red state. But, Modeling itself after Austin will be its ruin.
.......as someone who lived 40 years in Austin, and is now residing elsewhere, I can wholeheartedly say that Tulsa can learn a lot for sure.
They can learn what radical leftists in power 100% can do to destroy a city.
How’s the communism working out comrade?
Gonna start some new Okie jokes if they are successful.
Instead of moving to Austin, Tesla could have moved to Oklahoma and made Tulsa Teslas.
The biggest thing Austin has going for it is that is the Capitol city & is close to Lake Travis.
