It’s hard to be furious, because the tree sits right on the fence and all those branches were totally hanging over my yard. I was just a general nervous wreck! They have cleaned up most of that pile and have put the humongous stripped branches near the gate area. I say gate area, because i’m pretty sure that gate along with most of the fence had to be taken down in order for the huge bucket truck to drive into the neighbor’s yard.

However...good news....the neighbor, who is a really, really GOOD neighbor, is going to replace the fence. He and his son will do the work and he’s paying for it. I told hubby he should ask if he’d repair the gate if we paid him for that part. LOL! He probably hasn’t done it yet, though.

One of our past neighbors planted it. Pretty sure it’s not native to W. Texas. :)

It was about 40-50’ tall and smack-dab on the fence line. It was just tearing up the fence, which is going to be replaced once that monster is finally gone! LOL!

Yea, they are more at home out here behind the Pine Curtain in East Texas. But with enough water, I guess theyโ€™ll grow anywhere.

We finally finished the payroll....WHAT A DAY!

All who had turned their computers OFF last night were unable to connect to the work server to get on. Those of us who just put them to sleep were able to stay connected for a bit. Some programs come back on, but all are dependent on the main program to get anything done...like do payroll.

The workaround VPNs worked for some, not for others. FINALLY at 12:15p, all the the systems part and pieces worked for all.

Good evening, radu....rough day, but we finally got it done.

Hope you had a good day...less heat and maybe a hint of rain?

About 15 ducks this evening...only 1 boy and no fighting. Last night NO ONE got along.

At least they’ve gotten most of the mess cleaned up. I hope they plan to get the rest of it - every bit of it - cleaned up tomorrow. Some tree services are good about it; some, not so good.

Glad to hear you have a GOOD neighbor and he’s going to replace your fence. Probably not much left on that side, is there? If they tore down your gate, too, it should be replaced as well.

Can ya tell I’m reeeeeeeally used to not having anyone live right next door? LOL I like it that way too.

The pine needles being gone is good but no more bird poo on the patio is the best thing!

A very pleasant good Thursday morning and ((HUGS)) to everyone at the Canteen and to all our military at home and abroad. Thanks for your service to our country.

We had a severe storm come through our area yesterday with some wind and rain. Thankfully though we never lost power.

Our furnace is not working. The local heating repair men are coming over later this morning to see if they can fix it. The furnace is three to four decades old.

Our trip to Wichita Ridge was cut short due to the storms but we did get some activity in.

If all goes as planned we will do Chisolm Trail Park later today.

How's everyone doing this morning?

It was a couple of degrees cooler today but still toasty. And after days and days of low humidity, it was muggy today and I really felt it when I had to run errands. No rain today but it was cloudy.
The rain to the west is doing what was predicted. It’s fizzling out after it crosses the Mississippi. It’s just so dry here, it leeches the moisture from the clouds. I’m not expecting anything tomorrow because the whole thing is supposed to fall apart before it gets here. :-(

Your duck numbers are slowly increasing. These must be oldtimers since they weren’t fighting.

Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))

You’re up early.
Glad you didn’t lose power yesterday when the storm blew through. Really glad you got some much-needed rain, even if it did cut your outing with Gizmo short.

I hope the repairmen can fix your furnace! You’re going to need that soon.

Well, this is the desert, but we water our yard religiously. I’d be miserable with no green grass. Though this summer’s heat nearly did it in. There was a lot of dead branches on the lower part of the tree, but high up....as you can see by the branches piled up in our yard, it was quite healthy. It was becoming a nuisance though.

I hope they are the kind that clean up after themselves, too. I did sweep all the debris away from the doorway where I feed the kitties. They were so glad to see me tonight. Tux didn’t even fuss about using his own dish.

I’m used to having neighbors close by, but some are noisy and obnoxious. We’re very lucky to have the ones we have now. Only one of them has a couple of yappy dogs, but its sooo much better than the one before that had a pit bull that would dig under the fence. It finally scared a nice lady walking down the street with a walker and since we couldn’t reach the people, hubby called the pound. They moved soon after. Thank heavens.

I’d love to live some place with a bit of acreage, but not remote. I’m not good at remote. Just not used to it.

I’d make a point of making them clean it all up. I don’t like to have to turn her loose but when the need arises, there’s a flaming beyotch inside me. LOL

Poor kitties. They couldn’t have been happy about all the hubbub going on the past two days. Good for Tux. Maybe he’ll use his own dish all the time now.

I’ve had noisy or obnoxious neighbors in the past and I don’t think I could ever live in a subdivision again. I’m not super-remote here but remote enough and I love it. It’s nice and quiet except when trains pass by but they aren’t loud enough to bother me when I’m inside. They’ll be a little louder soon, once the corn across the road is harvested. It’s a nice buffer during summer.

I haven’t spoken to them. Hubby has, but I doubt if he’d make a fuss. They’ve tried to clear up so far, so maybe they’ll be the good kind.

I just checked the temp and it’s only 68!! I haven’t seen that since....May? It feels so good! I wanted to sit out for a bit, but the chair I use has debris from the wind and rain this afternoon and I can’t be bothered to clean it up tonight. LOL! Maybe summer is over?
