I think he is a villain. You do not topple power if you do not have a plan and a vision. McCarthy had a tough job.

“McCarthy had a tough job.”

At which he failed.

Repeatedly.

I’m no fan of McCarthy, but in a legislative body it’s a mistake to portray the leader as someone who wields authoritative power on his own. It doesn’t work that way.

McCarthy was a weak establishment hack because he represented the weak coalition of Republicans who comprise the House majority right now. In that sense, he was perfect for the job.

McCarthy had a tough job.

Agreed. However, it appears he was not up to the job as he continually sold out to the Democrats. We need someone with a pair of stones who will fight for us Republicans and I think most of us want less gov't, less spending, and lower taxes.

But he succeeded in giving the store away to the Left and screwing the American people. Finally his ticket was punched, by a hero.

How do you know Gaetz doesn’t have a plan?

Your criticism should be re-directed. To McCarthy. It was more important that he kept reminding himself this could happen, that he must have a plan to lead, not lose his position and keep the GOP together. He failed the party by not having the plan that you assign responsibility to Gaetz.

But if Gaetz had a plan, then I would predict you and many others would put forth another straw man proposition - how bad, unrealistic, unworkable the Gaetz plan would be. McCarthy has only himself to blame for his poor leadership at a critical time.

McCarthy had a tough job.

No doubt but could have done a better job.

No success anywhere due to apparent working with the enemy.

As to plan and vision. Yours is no better than mine and time will tell.

Why do we scream at each other? This is what it sounds like when RINOs cry.

I would usually agree but congress is so corrupt and the national situation so bad and existential that we are in a ‘we have to burn the village down to save it’ phase.

McCarthy and McConnell. Hmmm. They have more in common than the first three letters of their last names. They were practically allies of the Democrats. McCarthy made promises to become speaker didn’t keep them so he could stay speaker. It’s a lesson.

Hero,

I don’t particularly like Gaetz, but sometimes the situation calls for someone to be an SOB and we have been playing go-along, get-along with the Democrat communists since 1989 and McCarthy KNOWING of the September deadline piddled about and then did it again, kick the can down the road and lied to his own members in the process—again.

We are nearing the end of this countries run and the delicate Republican establishment is racking in the $ and partying while the country goes to hell.

Desperate times call for desperate measures, the GOP establishment needed a swift kick in those microscopic nuts they have and reminded we are tired of the collaboration with the enemy and your never ending lies, do something or in the name of God be gone from this place!
