I hope Gaetz and his group have played this out and have someone in mind who can get a majority and become speaker, given the slim majority the Republicans have it won’t be easy, now that McCarthy has been removed.
The RINOs won’t vote for a MAGA candidate now that McCarthy has been removed and the MAGA group won’t for another RINO to be just like McCarthy.
IMO, it’s not out of the realm of possibility that McCarthy gets reelected, as ridiculous as that sounds.
I’m all for this happening and getting rid of Gaetz.
Okay. The Speaker vote fails. Neither Hakeem Jeffries or Kevin McCarthy will get a majority. Patrick McHenry serves as acting Speaker until January 2025.
Gaetz doesn’t have to have a solution to act to remove a problem. The rest of Congress can do their damn job and realize that the people are watching.
That is the real game. Congress is full of grifters & losers but if they understand their jobs are on the line they may be scared straighter (maybe a little straighter but its a step in the right direction).
There was an episode of The Mary Tyler Moore Show (bear with me) where Mary is moved to management, and fires the odious, incompetent, buffoonish, blowhard, TV News anchorman, Ted Baxter.
But Mary quickly finds that having an odious, incompetent, buffoonish, blowhard, as the TV station's anchorman, is better than not having an anchorman at all, and has to give Ted his job back.
