Now-former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy was stripped of his gavel on Tuesday afternoon via roll-call vote on Rep. Matt Gaetz's (R-FL) motion to vacate the chair, pursuant to rules agreed to by McCarthy in order to clinch victory in his drawn-out race to become speaker in January.
By a vote of 216 to 210, the historic motion prevailed as presiding Rep. Steve Womack (R-AR) declared "the resolution is adopted...the office of Speaker of the House of the United States House of Representatives is hereby declared vacant."

The one thing the dems have going for them most the time is they tend to be in lock-step when they vote. Not always but usually when it counts. That makes them good little drones for the cultural Marxist dem party but not good representatives for their constituents. Or maybe that's what their voters want. I dunno how dems think or even if they do think. They seem to operate on pure emotion most the time.

Ignorant of what? I made no claim that McCarthy had been removed from Congress. He has been removed from his position within the Congress, the Constitutional office of Speaker.
Does anyone really think any Dem will vote for any GOPer that may run for Speaker? Not likely. And who can garner all the GOP votes with such a slim majority.
