The House would be in uncharted waters if McCarthy is removed as speaker: A motion to vacate has never been used successfully.
But the chamber wouldn't be as paralyzed and chaotic as it was in January amid McCarthy's five-day, 15-ballot vote to win the gavel.
As part of a rule change after 9/11 to support the continuity of government, the speaker is required to deliver to the House clerk an ordered list of members who can act as speaker pro tempore in the event of a vacancy.
The person at the top of McCarthy's list will serve as interim speaker until a new one is elected.
If the motion to vacate is successful, the chamber could go right to another speaker vote -- and McCarthy's allies could put him forward again to reclaim his post.
But unlike in January, it's possible that the House could take up other business in the meantime: The chamber has a rules package, and the speaker pro tempore would have the authority to act as speaker until a new one is elected.

Pres Trump asked for a budget for 4 years. He wanted a debate. He wanted compromise. He wanted a deal.

Assuming you got a House impeachment twice one for SloJoe & one for Kamala. Then you need two 66 votes in the Senate for removal of Slo & Ho. So where are those 66 votes (twice!) in the Senate coming from?
The Speaker need do nothing else than advance legislation that has the majority support of his caucus
And Gaetz outlined that McCarthy did exactly the opposite of that when he advanced Ukraine funding, among a host of other things that McCarthy promised but has since ignored.

I didn’t say it was the right thing to do, but what I expect to happen.
Why would the Democrats bail out McCarthy, maybe in a few days or so, but not now, they want to show the Republicans as dysfunctional.
The one thing Democrats do is stick together, with Nancy Pelosi running things with an iron fist, remember when AOC and the squad arrived in Washington, they were going to lead a revolution and dump Pelosi, how did that turn out, AOC and the squad all fell in line.
Let’s play this out, McCarthy gets removed, who could get enough votes to win a majority considering the small majority the Republicans hold.
The RINOs will never vote for a MAGA candidate after McCarthy gets removed and MAGA group will never vote for a RINO to just be another McCarthy.

I hope Gaetz and his group have played this out and have a plan to get someone elected, instead of the chaos that could break out.

If complete chaos in the House means that the House doesn’t do SH*T for weeks and months on end, thus shutting down Congress, I am perfectly ok with that.
The American people do NOT need Congress for anything other than to get out of the way. They are the root cause of about 90% of this country’s problems.
However, it is done, and the pathological general Republican hatred for Average Joe Decent American, and his Representative, President Donald J. Trump will not fade or die.
I truly believe that the $Billionaire donor class has to be scratching their heads and wondering why they can’t simply spend money to get their agendas passed these days.
There is a good bit of pushback now at the grassroots level and it scares them.

It would not bother me if the Congress shut down, reality is they need to operate, a majority of Americans think that way as well.

McCarthy said he would do certain things. He has not been doing those certain things. He has been working with and helping Biden and the Democrats. No reason for him to be in the position he’s in if all he’s doing is what the Democrats want.
