Hunter Biden is expected to plead not guilty Tuesday to federal firearms charges in a Delaware-based federal court during an arraignment that will mark the first time a sitting president's child has appeared to fight criminal charges in court.
President Joe Biden's son was indicted by special counsel David Weiss last month for allegedly lying on a federal gun form and illegally owning a firearm while using illegal drugs.
Magistrate Judge Christopher Burke will preside over the hearing Tuesday, according to CNN. Last month he rejected Hunter Biden's request to appear virtually for the first hearing in the case, requiring the first son to travel from his home in California to Wilmington, Delaware, to face the charges.
Biden's attorney, Abbe Lowell, said in a court filing last month that his client intends to plead not guilty.
