West Point has a storied place in American history. During the Revolution, Benedict Arnold tried to give the fort to the British. After the Revolution, it became America’s first military academy, graduating such luminaries as Ulysses S. Grant, Dwight Eisenhower, Generals Omar Bradley, Douglas MacArthur, and George S. Patton, and many other men who have shaped our nation. All the alumni were driven by patriotism even if, as with Robert E. Lee, that patriotism was misplaced. Now, though, West Point has a “minor” that is the essence of anti-patriotism. Welcome to West Point’s Diversity and Inclusion Studies Minor.
West Point describes its new minor this way:
Diversity and Inclusion Studies (DISM) is an interdisciplinary minor administered by the Department of Behavioral Sciences & Leadership that consists of humanities and social science courses. America is a multicultural polity and demands knowledgeable and pragmatic thinkers who understand the range of human experiences. The Diversity and Inclusion Studies Minor (DISM) exposes cadets to varied perspectives & methodologies for understanding and studying the humanities. By carefully drawing from existing courses in multiple departments, the DISM complements and enhances the core curriculum, academic majors, and several West Point Centers and committees. Moreover, the DISM at West Point offers cadets a framework for critically and creatively thinking about the broader impact of diversity and inclusion at the individual, organizational, societal, and/or global levels - providing them with knowledge and insights that can help prepare them to lead in today's Army.
That academic gobbledy-gook hides what DEI really is: The assertion that America is systemically racist—and sexist and homophobic, and all the other “isms,” “ists,” and “phobias” that drive leftism. Under the DEI rubric, these horrors are baked into the American system. The Constitution, the 14th Amendment, the Civil Rights Act…none of them matter.

Indeed, you can see the hostility to America’s institutions in the classes students must take for this minor:
Must take 2 of 3
PL377: Social Inequality
EN352: Power and Difference
SS392: The Politics of Race, Gender, and Sexuality
Must Take 1 of 4
HI391: World Religions
HI461: Sex and Civilizations
HI463: Race, Ethnicity, Nation
HI398: Society & Culture in American History
In other words, America is an evil country, both root and branch.
Define half of them as "domestic enemys".
Wow.
I didn’t dodge the draft in 1969...I didn’t go to Canada either.I served despite not being thrilled by being forced to. However,if I was drafted today I’d go to Canada. No way would I serve in today’s Armed Forces.
Nonsensical major for semi literates. There is no presumption that anyone taking this major will ever really fight or actually serve in any meaningful capacity. Absolutely disgusting.
“How do you fight for a country you’re taught to hate?”
______________________________________________
You don’t. Rather you fight against and kill your fellow citizens that disagree with you or the government/party line. They are conditioning officers and enlisted personnel to fight against US citizens. Why else would you open the ranks and promote freaks from the LBTQ+ community as well as open the borders to all the riff raff from around the world?
It’s the exact same thing that has been happening in Venezuela. Fill the military and law enforcement ranks with “your” people and send them out into the streets to arrest, brutalize and kill everybody that disagrees with you.
Couldn’t you go somewhere better than Canada??
For DC neocons and bureaucratic elites who treat you as pawns, and for their installed puppets who are corrupt and perverted as hell?
America’s greatest traditional institutions have nearly all fallen. I can’t think of one which isn’t corrupted.
Ping
I don’t know. Maybe West Point should stop teaching classes teach cadets to doubt their own country?
Agreed!
There is a cleansing in the offing after Trump wins the 2024 POTUS election!
No kidding. current West Point is totally aligned with the DC Globohomo Empire, and the enemy is whites in Red State America.
“That academic gobbledy-gook hides what DEI really is: The assertion that America is systemically racist—and sexist and homophobic, and all the other “isms,” “ists,” and “phobias” that drive leftism”
Critical Theory=all human interaction is governed by social construct.
DEI really is textbook Marxism-maybe our side should start calling it by it;s name?
The 1 of 4 choice is reasonable.
World Religions
Race, Ethnicity and Nations
Society and Culture
All these are very relevant in re the causes and circumstances of war.
Of the first group.
Social Inequality is much like the above, potentially relevant and useful on the face of it. It’s a long running theme in European History, from the Brothers Gracchi @100BC to current US politics.
It all depends, of course, on HOW they are taught.
A couple of years ago, a WP graduate celebrated Communism for the cameras!
Simple: When the Civil War come Join the armies of the Free States fighting to restore America from the Federal States. Who would you swear to protect? Hillary or Trump? A New CSA will form (Constitutional States of America). They will elect Donald Trump their first President to serve a six year term. Maybe Ted Cruz as VP? In the CSA you will be taught to love your country. Many Blacks, and browns will flock to the new banner. Putin’s Russia will be the first to recognize the CSA and send aid to the Rebels.
My friend’s grand daughter just graduated from West Point. The stories of wokeness, racism (against whites), defining deviancy down, etc., are chilling.
I noted on FR at least twenty years ago that Democrat congress that eschewed appointing anyone to the hated military academies had changed their stance. They were to nominate youths from red families. They have done so and have slowly over a quarter century changed the composition of the military from top to bottom.
