Matt Gaetz Backs Down on McCarthy Ouster as House Speaker—for Now
The Daily Beast ^ | October 3, 2023 | Brett Bachman

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL)—who has been making enemies in recent days of members of his own party over his incessant campaign to oust House Speaker Kevin McCarthy—didn’t offer a motion to do so Monday as was widely expected, though he still promised to do so later in the week. As justification for his delay, Gaetz said he wanted more details on a “secret side deal” that he accused McCarthy of making with President Joe Biden on Ukraine funding—though it’s unclear whether such a deal has actually been struck. “Members of the Republican Party might vote differently on a motion to vacate if they heard what the speaker had to share with us about his secret side deal with Joe Biden on Ukraine. I’ll be listening,” he said on the House floor Monday. “Stay tuned.” Gaetz’ antics have reportedly led a group of House Republicans to draft a motion to expel him from Congress, which they plan to introduce if an ongoing ethics committee probe does not clear him of long-simmering allegations of wrongdoing.

exactly. Gaetz is not the problem. The problem is the vast number of gop congressmen who have sold this country out. Thereby effectively neutering any opposition to deepstate. So instead of supporting those that speak up against deepstate, attempting to find support, many here instead choose to demean the few that stand in opposition to deepstate. Yet offer no alternative but to blame the few that remain powerless in number to create change.

What is the dirty deal the McLeadership made with the Dems about Ukraine?

They will agree to spend whatever amount of taxpayer funds Biden and Schumer want.

So according to some

Some people here just like to bitch and moan and throw juvenile insults. NOBODY is ever good enough for them, but they have nothing constructive to offer.

My biggest complaint about Gaetz is that he doesn't seem to be thinking clearly about how to follow a strategy to accomplish his objectives.

I said as much in late 2022 and early 2023 when the GOP battle over the House Speaker post began. With the paltry support the Freedom Caucus candidates had for the position, their only leverage was to support the Democrat in the Speaker vote. That would have been idiotic (at best).

I’ve actually seen the America as we knew it traveling abroad.

Lima Peru a little Barber Shop in between a small eat-in or outside tables cafe-like restaurant and a bicycle repair shop on the other side. The red and white striped pole above the entrance. And the door was tied open and just inside an old barber horse (chair) with a saddle and merry-go-round type horse head for kids getting a haircut.

During Covid the barber chair was outside in front of a window and the barber cut hair thru the window.

He's one of this new vernation of social media snowflake allegedly conservative Republicans. Somehow, they know nothing about intelligent conservatism, but their very loud about claiming it in the most superficial sense. The have zero productive accomplishments, their only "accomplishment" is getting attention on social media, and "owning libs." They distract conservatives from actually fighting the left wing agenda.

If there was a top secret leftist lab to create false flag Republican politicians to infiltrate the right, it would look a lot like Gaetz.

[And I'm not even going to get into his Hunter-Budenesque personal life. But if some Democrat was living with an underage illegal immigrant boy, you'd be suggesting he was his catamite. As far as I know he still lives with him, but he's not underage anymore, and Gaetz calls him him "helper." Like I said, what would you say to that if he was a Democrat?]

"When you strike at the king, you must kill him." Emerson.

Matt Gaetz did not kill McCarthy, a fatal error that will lead to his own undoing. McCarthy will survive, and Gaetz and his staff may find themselves relocated to the capitol basement.

Yes, but was he really even trying? I am not an expert on Congressional backroom goings on, but I know you just don’t come out and say you are going after the Speaker. You do stuff behind the scene, you count heads, all kinds of shenanigans. I know 4th graders who could have done a better job than Gaetz.

So your response is only to criticize the one standing in opposition to deepstate with democrat talking points?

Let me repeat myself, what plan are you offering to overthrow leadership, the likes of McCarty and McConnell?

The only alternative is Shut up Gaetz, let the real conservatives come up with a plan.

So what’s the plan, and how many true Conservatives will it take to carry out the plan?

How many True conservatives ARE WE STILL SHORT?

The problem isn’t with the few standing in opposition to deepstate. The problem is STILL the number in bed with deepstate.

So again, I ask...

So now Gaetz is less intelligent than forth graders?

As a person of your intellect, surely you can offer an alternative to change the course of congress. So again, what is that plan?

However, in a war, how successful can a handful be when faced against so many?

Bingo. Not only are there too many RINOs, but the House GOP majority is also too slim right now. The real fight will have to be deferred until Jan. 2025. Gaetz wants to be FLA Governor anyway.

Again with only criticism to Gaetz for being ticked off that the House is so weak to offer opposition to McCarthy.

So AGAIN, your plan is...?

Gaetz went off halfcocked as opposed to going off full cocked with his underaged girlfriend? I suppose that is progress. Does that make Gaetz a progressive?
