Governor Ron DeSantis has challenged Mister Trump to a debate.
Mister Trump will display the reciprocal of courage and decline, citing (likely) that the process is 'rigged'.
That said, the format for such a debate could be anything that the competitors agree to.
And, what about the likelihood that Mister Trump will not agree to debate(s) with the Dem nom? (Unlikely Mister Biden, my guess.)?
Trump has legitimate worries about questions that might appear in a debate.
-Care and respect for classified documents and information.
-Hush money for porn stars.
-An astonishingly foolish claim that he can end the Ukraine war in 24 hours.
The list is, of course, much longer. The Dems know every item and will play them 24/7 with oppo ads once Mister Trump assumes the nomination.
The general election will be about one, and only one thing.
Trump.
He has no chance, and the up and down ballot candidates will suffer as a consequence.

I’d be reluctant to say he would not be able to end the Ukrainian conflict quickly in view of all the other successes he has had in similar circumstances where others had only failures for decades.
What's in it for Trump? Trump is way ahead of DeSantis. Trump gains nothing from debating the dwarfs. Trump has a track record that benefited most Americans despite Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, Obama's Weaponized Agencies and Hillary's Russia Russia Hoax.
DeSantis just won his reelection. He made a contract with Floridians to be our Governor for four more years. He is attempting to break that contract. Do you trust a man who breaks his word? Has DeSantis said anything that gives you confidence he will fight for you against globalization? DeSantis is not outraged at the Weaponized DOJ. He should be but he is not. I doubt very much DeSantis is in it for America. His donors tell me he is in it for himself.
The Dems, aka MSM for all intense and purposes, will decimate DeSantis should he win the nomination.
