House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) said Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation” that Rep. Matt Gaetz’s (R-FL) plans to come after his speakership will fail.
Anchor Margaret Brennan said, “I want to start, though, on the news from Congressman Matt Gaetz, who says he’s going to seek a motion to vacate. He’s going to try to oust you as speaker of the House.”

It won't be the same spending bill.
These omnibus bills are how the Congress hides their earmarks and other unrelated spending. It's Nancy Pelosi's "you have to pass the bill to find out what's in it" method of hiding pork.
By breaking out the spending into "clean" department budget bills, it makes it much harder to hide unrelated spending or side-deals between members.

LOL! My Rep., Brandon Williams is Republican, and in his first term. He voted for the Stop-Gap Bill yesterday. I'll certainly call him tomorrow, but I'll be telling him I won't be voting for him ever again. As far as his voting against McCarthy? He's already showed he approved what McCarthy did, by voting Yes on the Bill, so I doubt he'd vote to kick him out of the Speakership. All of those Republicans who voted for the Bill, voted in favor of McCarthy's side-deal with the Democrats to keep Ukraine funding in the Bill. And plenty of so-called Conservatives will still vote for them when they're up for re-election, because they think the seat needs to remain Republican. I don't understand why they do that, because all they are doing is perpetuating this kind of crap.
LOL!! There are other symptoms and behaviors that go along with someone being diagnosed as a sociopath. As someone who appears to have worked in the medical world, you know a person isn’t diagnosed with a syndrome if they appear to have only one symptom. That works for other diseases, mental and physical as well. I have some of the markers for Lupus, but not enough to be diagnosed with Lupus. You are playing fast and loose with your diagnosis.
Until DeSantis threw his hat in the Presidential ring, and Gaetz chose to back Donald Trump in 2024. That's the gist of it.

This is the same shit that just went on in Texas against Ken Paxton. It's the same reason Congress worked diligently to get rid of Trump, and diminish the power of the President, because he couldn't be bought by the Uni-Party.
Gaetz and four of his fellow "conservative warriors" voted against an 8% cut in domestic spending and a huge increase in border security that was supported by the vast majority of the Freedom Caucus. He never once articulated or proposed any alternative and instead preened in front of the microphones and blathered on Twitter that Byron Donalds and anyone else who opposed his idiotic stunt was a sellout.
And before you say the 8% cut wasn't good enough, then you will actually need to get more conservatives who can actually get elected to Congress who will vote for your agenda. Senator Hershel Walker is not going to bail us out.
An 8% cut and increase in border security is way better than anything we're going to get 45 days from now.

Didn’t take like 16 tries before he became speaker?
McCarthy has been a sellout from the beginning, but I think he ended up as speaker because no one else wanted the job who could get the votes.
Who would replace McCarthy if he were to be deposed? I think it would be easy to get rid of him and a good idea, but who would step in? No way Gaetz could get it and Scalise would be more of the same.
