"Peckish" is Brit slang for "hungry" or "famished." It doesn't refer to "birdbrain" or a bird pecking at another bird — it's an exaggeration referring to the old English measurement the "peck", which is 8 dry quarts; in other words, "I'm so hungry I could eat almost a peck of food."
So, you married a liberal. Liberals vote for personalities, not policies. It's why the country has declined since women were given the vote.
I see the logic in that. If he can convince the media to get behind her, instead of the two strongest, he will cinch the nom.

I like DeSantis' policies better.
He actually has achieved conservative victories. But he can be stiff and awkward on the campaign trail. Probably why he's losing to a carnival barker who hasn't achieved much of anything but sure talks a great game.
