The House of Representatives approved a government spending deal Saturday on a bipartisan basis that left out aid to Ukraine, rejecting warnings from Pentagon officials who made a last-minute push for the assistance.

In conversations throughout the day, the Defense Department officials stressed to House and Senate leadership on both sides of the aisle the importance of approving aid to Kyiv as Ukraine continues to try to fight off Russia’s invasion, according to two people with knowledge of the matter, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe private conversations.

Does this mean Ukraine will go scorched earth policy forward and spill the beans on Joe Biden and family corruption there? Asap, I hope.

It didn't help that Fetterman called GOP House members a bunch of "jagoffs" for not supporting Ukraine. His outburst guaranteed that the bill would be stripped of Ukraine funding. Thanks, Uncle Fester!

This could end the war. It will end in defeat, as was inevitable, but end it will.

The focus group testing made it clear. It is a losing issue for Biden. He was looking for a way out.

Nah. Joe Biden has some planes in the Air Force's. He'll sell them and give the funds to Ukraine if he needs to do that.

Thank God for MTG. Finally someone with a spine went on the attack.

Basically her point is

Congress and Biden want this money? OK then go on record voting for it. Stop this decades old corrupt game of hiding things that will be unpopular with voters in your district in the DOD bill

This is a good test to evaluate whether we still have a republican form of government, or are actually an oligarchy of self-annointed elites with the elected officials only as figureheads: Compare how much money flows to Ukraine from Washington after this vote vs. before.

My prediction is that through many channels funds will continue to be sent/laundered, with the actions of the elected representives only having a minor impact.

When Russia becomes a threat Freepers cheering this can no longer ignore, they will turn on a dime and become the loudest calling for the US and NATO to take stronger action.

Russia is already a threat because the US military has become a paper tiger, backed by a hollow industrial base.
