Former NFL first-round draft pick Michael Oher is free from his conservatorship with Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy. Shelby County (Tenn.) Judge Kathleen Gomes “terminated” the conservatorship on Friday, according to WREG in Memphis.
Oher, the former Baltimore Ravens offensive tackle, sued the Tuohy family last month, alleging they swindled him out of proceeds from the blockbuster film “The Blind Side” and said he just learned earlier this year he was under a conservatorship as opposed to having been adopted.
“The lie of Michael’s adoption is one upon which Co-Conservators Leigh Anne Tuohy and Sean Tuohy have enriched themselves at the expense of their Ward, the undersigned Michael Oher,” Oher’s suit said, per ESPN. “Michael Oher discovered this lie to his chagrin and embarrassment in February of 2023, when he learned that the Conservatorship to which he consented on the basis that doing so would make him a member of the Tuohy family, in fact provided him no familial relationship with the Tuohys.”

I read the book. It was very good. Didn’t watch the movie as I knew what to expect. It’s sad that Americans gravitate to such heart warming stories where blacks only get ahead due to white help.
I think leftists are the biggest groupies when someone like Barak or a Tiger Woods comes along. Guilt does that. Blacks don’t celebrate this stuff because they know we’re being played with this stuff. They end up preferring to see them fail like Tiger having a ‘seizure’ when his wife is trying to kill him. Same with O.J.

Yup! Greedy B. The Tuohy family invested proceeds and were wise. Oher blew through almost $4M football earnings each year, not to mention the 1/5th proceeds of the movie, and is now broke. Baby momma: but I want mo money!

It is sad that blacks like Michael or Colin bash their white parents...It was more than just a white savior moment... Michael had 34 million...After taxes, and other fees, he had to have millions left over..He was able to get a college education, stable family life(for awhile) and cars......He had 9 siblings...Did they all have the same life Micheal enjoyed???? by the way,Colin stated the football league was a plantation and the black players were slaves....Just read where he wants to go back to being a well paid slave....
I think whites get tired of being bashed when we don’t help and bashed or sued when we do.....always being angry at us is a way of life for some blacks......Scott Adams said it best...Leave blacks alone..Let them find their own way and if they don’t ,oh well.....

- Their own homeland in Liberia
- Right to vote
- Free education
- Subsidized housing
- Subsidized food benefits
- Subsidized medical care and disability
- Their own colleges and universities, taxpayer funded
- Even our damn white women
It's time to cut the cord folks. Most blacks are incapable of living in a peaceful, just society. They need to be banished permanently to Liberia or any Sub-Saharan African nation.
I have to comment because your post is right below mine.
(1) If you drag people here in chains and then enslave generations of them, then, at the very least, they deserve freedom, citizenship, and the right to vote.
(2) The “40 acres” was offered... and then taken away.
(3) As for “free education, subsidized housing, food benefits, medical care, and disability,” those things are open to people regardless of their race.
But, this story has nothing to do with any of that. Oher is a professional athlete who earns his own money. He was portrayed as a victim in a movie. Would you want to be portrayed that way in a movie? The Tuohys were portrayed as his saviors. That’s some leftist Hollywood garbage right there.
People here are saying he should’ve known he wasn’t adopted, but notice that Mrs. Tuohy refers to him as their “adopted son” on her website (see my post above yours). Now, they’re saying they didn’t mean “adopted” in the legal sense. Instead, he’s been in a conservatorship for years.
Maybe the Tuohys had his best interest at heart, but it doesn’t look good, and I can understand Oher’s point of view.
Oher is NOT Colin Kaepernick who really was adopted and raised by loving parents and then threw them under the bus.
It won’t be long until the Hispanics take over the dem party and black dems will wish they demanded the dem party stop immigration..They truly will be in the back of the bus, no matter how our country turns out.....

your confused or stupid, they had 200 million before him and have it now, how much did mike save of his 34 million and book deals . he hasn’t said and we would like to know if he blew it on his wife and kids and now needs a new income stream thru extortion.
He was under conservatorship, so if any of his money is gone, that is on the Tuohys.
they did not use the conservatorship to do anything but provide him familial benefit in the NCAA rules at the time. tutors, cars, food to assist him in the world, one broken ankle of spousal assault would have ended that career path and he did well despite his first 18 years.
I have seen no use of it except in the beginning to get him into school, none of his 34 million in NFL money/contracts or his book deals. have you?
