Revenge of the Bullwinkle.
Rocky Squirrel seeking reparations.

I’ll take a wild guess that CG, aerodynamics, and/or load limit were factors......

Strapping a moose to your wing does not improve the aerodynamics of your plane.

Not that I believe the media, but I don’t think moose antlers help the aerodynamics of the wing. There is nothing in our preflight checklist that mentions it so maybe it’s okay.

Well, everyone knows that strapping large objects to the wings won’t disrupt airflow and lift. Anybody got a Blood Alcohol level?

Headline is contradicted by article ... the antlers were strapped to the wing strut, very different from strapping to the wing itself. Real problem is overloading. Bush pilots often play fast and loose the rules. You can get away with violating the FAA's rules (sometimes), violating the laws of physics will always get you.

Writer in painfully ignorant of aviation as well as hunting.
"The hunters caught a moose..."
You shoot a moose, take a moose, harvest a moose or kill a moose.
A mouse is said to be caught.
Arguably, I suppose that if you engage in an act of subterfuge by means of a muffin, then perhaps a moose could be said to be caught.

The hunter pilot clearly didn’t understand the ABC’s of flight. No loss. Hope some higher predators get to feed on his carcass.
