Former Detroit Police Chief James Craig is planning to enter the race for Michigan’s U.S. Senate seat, sources familiar with the matter told The Associated Press.
Craig joins a list of GOP candidates trying to flip the seat after Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.) announced in January that she would not seek reelection.
Craig is positioning himself to earn the support of former President Trump, a source told the AP. Craig supports Trump’s 2024 presidential bid and recently wrote that Trump’s previous term in office “was a proud time to be an American.”

If fraud is substantially eliminated, sure. Good luck with THAT!
Alot may ride on President Trump’s coattails in 2024.
They stole 2018, 2020 and 2022.
They'll steal Michigan 2024 without breaking a sweat.
I wish him well.
He’s a common sense guy.
Rare among politicians these daze.
It’s the same guy who *tried* to run for Governor in 2022.
He hired Democrat operatives to go gather petition signatures for him, in order to get on the ballot. Then — surprise, surprise — enough of those signatures turned out to be invalid (yes, they check signatures for REPUBLICANS) and he was booted from the ballot.
Of course he didn’t know that those helpful signature-gatherers were Democrats who were going to fatally sabotage his campaign, but in any case he needs to be a lot damn smarter this time around — in ALL phases of the campaign.
Since the Michigan GOP otherwise has absolutely nothing, in terms of viable Senate candidates, all hopes are on Craig.
No- 2022 Governor- Due to outsourcing and not paying to attention to GOTV/petition signatures collection, Craig was burned - disqualified due to ineligible/insufficient valid signatures. THIS IS GOTV 101-
If you can’t get this fundamental right, doomed before starting-
Comparison - 2022- Ron Johnson in Senate petition drive brought in nearly 450K- threshold for qualification for Senate in WI is 30 K signatures- demonstrated his GOTV apparatus was running well
Unfortunately
We are facing a 1964 level blowout due to infighting, tone deafness of RNC and Establishment, lack of coherent message, and the upcoming blame for
1. October Dow swoon
2.Economic ripple effect (due to shutdown of course /S)
3. Impending defeat of UA (on UA and Zelensky despite pumped with billions of latest and greatest)
There is no fallback position
There is no rally point
There is no LZ extraction location
Simply put- Most of us have been abandoned on the field and left to own resources. Think, Plan, and Act accordingly.
Interesting. Former Chief of Cincinnati P.D.
It could lighten up the black voters in Detroit as it desends more and more into a $hithole.
I already volunteered.
That is a myth.
Have you been there?
It is actually quite popular and awesome now with only one area to avoid.
As good as many US cities, and doesn’t scare me to go there.
Seattle these days, is far more scary.
I used to live there.
I grew up in Detroit. Have been back many times.
just my two cents. As cities go I would choose Detroit over tons of others.
Sorry. Never been there. I have too much respect for my teeth.
Nice observations about Detroit.👍
Many decades have passed with promises of a Detroit comeback.
With a common sence Mayor, and city council there a true Renaissance happening not only downtown, but in many of the neighborhoods.
👍
Heck. Even the Lions are in first place!
Trump could have asked Mittens to lead a Detroit renaissance like he did when he fixed the Olympics. The Romney name is royalty in Michigan. It would have benefitted the party as well as the nation. So why did Romney go rogue vs. his nemesis?
Perhaps Trump didn’t have to belittle him when Romney hit him up for the State department job. Both seem vindictive.
On the 24th we visited the island and radios were going everywhere.
I guess it was an awesome game!!
I kept thinking... really? Is this the Lions?
I caught a documentary on PBS I think it was. Anyway they plan on restoring the Boblo boat. That would be kinda cool.
New Hudson’s building going up also.

DETROIT RIVERWALK NAMED BEST RIVERWALK IN AMERICA THREE YEARS IN A ROW
I think I saw that too!
I would love it.
It is fun keeping but with the restorations.
My entire childhood there was outstanding.
And now I live five miles north but I do get down there..
James Craig is a great American. God bless James Craig.
