The Fall of Lululemon — How Stores Surrendered to Looters
New York Post ^ | Sep. 28, 2023 | Douglas Murray

But they also broke into and ransacked the local branch of Lululemon. Yoga Moms everywhere will be appalled.

And while looting can never be condoned, I must admit that I feel like the high end sports-clothing store had it coming to them.

SNIP

At the store in Manhattan, as I was shopping another “customer” was going along the racks using the old five-finger discount. In fact he was just walking around the store pulling clothes off the racks and throwing them over his arm. He had collected a huge pile of stuff. Probably thousands of dollars worth of clothing. Since he was the only other person in the store I asked the nice girl behind the counter why nobody was doing anything about this. She said that there was not much they could do.

The Koreans famously defended their stores during the 1992 Los Angeles riots.

The California governor at the time was a Republican. And Democrats were more moderate back then. Unfortunately, things are far different in blue states today.

Any rooftop Korean who tried to defend his store today would probably be charged with brandishing a weapon if he didn’t fire his gun, and murder if he did.

one way to get rid of private property is to make people afraid to defend their property

That’s why I said swords and knives behind the counter. Liberal states are squeamish about good citizens brandishing guns.

My Chinese-American brother-in-law worked at a San Francisco Walgreens for many years, and lately suffered abuse from black shoplifters. Just looking at the black perp would get a “You’re racist, aren’t you!” look. Even though brother-in-law has close black friends. He got punched in the face by black thieves at the store. Thankfully, he retired a few years ago before things got really bad and the stores got shut down.

Chinese are more lenient than Koreans. Koreans wouldn’t take abuse and punches like that. When it comes down to the Asians I know, the Koreans can be downright rude and will fight back.

You might as well use a direct sales app like Temu.

See my tagline. We’ve pretty much gone Gault.

I hadn’t thought of that. It’s an interesting take.

Clerk shoots robber and puts him in the hospital. Liberals go insane.
Clerk hits robber with a broom handle and puts him in the hospital. Liberals don’t even notice.

So can the employees grab whatever they want, kind of like a bonus?

“I think he is unaware all retail stores have this policy.”

Sounds like it. We passed Good Semaritan Laws to protect people who try to save another’s life from being sued. Prior to that, you save a life, you were then sued.

The reason that stores have a hands-off policy is EXACTLY the same. So, yes, the solution is EXACTLY the same, something like: “Providing that one’s not otherwise breaking the law, anyone working at a store can use reasonable means to prevent unauthorized loss of inventory.” So, tackle someone trying to leave with ‘inventory’, fine. Shoot him when he’s otherwise not threatening anyone...maybe a bit too much...maybe.

Right. But the Democrats have turbocharged things by refusing to prosecute shoplifters. This is a relatively new phenomenon. It’s all part of the insane Biden era.

Joe would order an F15 to bomb the area flat.

Laws and rules would not apply.

Those are for little people.

It’s not for wearing, it’s for selling.

By now it has already been swaped for drugs or sold for pennies to someone else smart enough to know how to sell it on Poshmark, E-Bay, Etsy, etc.

Those of us who have read the book ask “who is John Galt?” Don’t know who Gault is.

In Vietnam, (1970-71) I heard many stories about the ROKs (South Korean soldiers). Totally bad-ass and took no prisoners. Never worked with them, so no direct knowledge, but the reputation was there.

Those of us who have read the book ask “who is John Galt?” Don’t know who Gault is.

Your comment makes no sense, but John Galt is a man who tried to stop the motor of the world. Hope that helps.
