The major Democratic-run cities cannot survive without their Ponzi scheme of low-wage migration, says author Michael Lind.
“An international migration Ponzi scheme is the only thing that averts a demographic doom loop for cities like New York and San Francisco,” as Americans flee the Democrats’ huge and badly-run cities, Lind wrote in the September 26 article for Compact Magazine.
“It is time for the euthanasia of the [immigration-addicted] city — by, among other things, stopping the urban immigration Ponzi scheme,” he said.
Democratic mayors pretend to oppose the unpopular migration while calling for more migrants and more federal funds to help replace the Americans who leave the corrupt, expensive, and badly run cities, said Lind:

Yeah, that’s working great.
I didn’t realize that that destroying cities was *reviving* them.
That’s some kinda revival, huh?
Nothing like replacing taxpayers with tax takers, and nothing like getting reelected for one more term before....
He’s not saying that it’s a good thing or that it will work. I think he’s saying that cities are collapsing, and tha illegals come with federal funding that keeps them going. But the mayors don’t seem approve of the migrants or the strategy.
How do you “revive” anything by importing 3rd World work ethic/living style?
Like most leftist wetdreams, this one is ill conceived and just plain stupid.
When immigrants flocked to this country in the late 18’s and early 19’s, it was with the express of becoming Americans and of working to advance themselves.
The illegals are only here to be served. They do not, for a large part, want to work or do anything akin to assimilating. And the demblecrats in the cities know this. so If they think they are “reviving” themselves they are sadly mistaken at the severe cost to the natives of those cities and towns.
A good example is Lewiston, ME which has been over run by Somalis. It is a pathetic shell of what was once a proud and thriving French Canadian immigrant city. It is disgusting what happened there.
All of them are expecting the US to bail their sorry azzes out and support them.

Immigrants today are seen as livestock, not valuable contributors to our economy. The ones pushing hardest for open borders are those in the business of feeding, sheltering and herding these “animals.” And they don’t even care if this livestock is useful as working animals or packaged meat products.

This is mostly about congressional seats. Big blue cites and districts and states are loosing congressional seats at an exceptional pace and they know its going to get worse.
Illegal alien replacement will give them cover since the seats are based on total population not the total legal population.
If they can’t vote its OK these are safe districts and there are no challengers from the right anyway. But you can only win if there is a seat to run for.
Illegal aliens are the prefect constituency, you get to hold the seat and you only have to pander to the small number of citizens and legal residents who did not flee.
Of course getting them voting rights will be the next big push.
Yes, that makes sense. I don’t know how productive these newcomers will be, but more bodies means more representatives in Congress and more money.
Revolt maybe, but not revive.
