Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas will consider a lawsuit by Second Amendment groups challenging New York's strict concealed carry firearm laws.
Thomas has scheduled a conference with the full court on Oct. 6 to weigh a challenge to a provision of New York's Concealed Carry Improvement Act on background checks for ammunition purchases, which went into effect a few weeks ago, according to the court's calendar.
A pair of New York gun shop owners filed the lawsuit, arguing that the new background requirements would impact their business and deprive lawful gun owners of their Second Amendment rights.
The plaintiffs had also argued that the state isn't equipped to take over the responsibility of conducting online background checks on gun sales from the existing federal system.

I didn’t believe Hillary Clinton could be cloned until I saw Kathy Hochul, that bucked toothed b*tch. She’s the typical leftist who infringes upon the 2nd while being protected by armed bodyguards.
Lee Zeldin won that governors race but typical of New York, fair elections are a thing of the past. Democrats like Hochul can be openly corrupt and like Joe Biden or Hillary, never campaign, never answer questions, never hold a rally, and still “win” an election.
New York will have to suffer from the repercussions of looking the other way while massive cheating was being implemented in their elections. Until the people have had enough and start demanding secure elections, then the “powers that be” will keep installing those they wish in positions in government.
Sadly, Zeldin did not win. He did better than others that have run R in recent years, but the NYC advantage to Ds is sizeable.
“...and start demanding secure elections, ...”
We can demand all we want. Those who have the power don’t give a rat sass what we demand. What do you suggest we do then, hold our breath until we turn blue?
“We can demand all we want. Those who have the power don’t give a rat sass what we demand. What do you suggest we do then, hold our breath until we turn blue?”
Well, we need to do something different than what we are doing now. With the way things are going, election fraud is going to turn all the states blue.
When it is he alone the typical action is a stay, a pass or sending it back down for directed further action, I believe. If a stay then the whole court hears the appeal later while the law is held in abeyance.
Cool.
In nys, not necessarily true.. some years ago, the five counties that make the NYC metro area had more registered demoncrats than all other parties voters registered in the rest of nys.
The demoncrats rarely lose, they just control the urban areas, game set match.... unless they are completely stupid, utterly criminal, they win every time.
“...NYC advantage to Ds is sizeable.”
And, that is why NY State should be split into at least two States. The same could be said of a good many others, too.
IMO SCOTUS...in fact,*all* Federal courts...should be on constant guard to protect *all* US citizens from having *any* of their Constitutional rights infringed...1st Amendment...4th Amendment...5th Amendment...and 2nd Amendment, etc.
Just a comment:
I love Lee Zeldin and I believe...HE IS TOO GOOD for NY.
New York, more accurately Manhattan, has become just as much of a cesspool as San Francisco.
Never to return to glory?????
It’s UP TO YOU NEW YORK.
.
And this is why the 17th should be overturned. The citizens outside the cities have zero representation by their Senators. Having the state legislatures elect the federal Senators would make them representative of the entire state, not just the biggest city.
Cities already have a representative advantage in the House.
Dominion.
The expected response from the little hitlers who run New York -- following the Bruen SCOTUS decision, they don't just ignore the ruling, they 'double-down' on their unconstitional restrictions.
How about a lawsuit for ny’s unconstitutional “safe act” ???
Agreed.
