The second Republican debate of the 2024 presidential primary has just begun in Simi Valley, California.
Seven candidates have qualified for a spot on the stage: Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, former Vice President Mike Pence, South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott, former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum. Former President Donald Trump, the current front-runner, has opted again to skip the event.
538 and ABC News will be live-blogging every major moment and highlight from the debate, which begins at 9 p.m. EDT on Fox News. PolitiFact will be making real-time fact checks of key statements.

There is a Live thread of this dead event. What is this thread for?
yawn
It’s for quickly reading what’s going on without listening to a lot of argle bargle.
It’s for joesbucks, reno1234, gasoline and the rest.
And nobody cared, other than for laughing at them as they try to pretend they are relevant.
The ONLY person I will be campaigning for is Donald Trump.

Yep. The seven people on that stage are either campaigning for VP or are ghoulishly hoping that something bad will happen to Trump.
I have no interest in any of them.
Did Meatball name a VP yet?
LoL Trump made a comment tonight the debate is for VP. He then asked if anyone saw VP in that stage and then confirmed he didn’t.
😂
Except Christie, he is mainly attacking Trump.
Fat piece of garbage.
Food addiction is so obvious, and signals underlying mental health issues.
Who would even consider voting for him????

“What is this thread for?
For certain it is not for VP but all of them think so. Except RDS, he burned his bridge months ago.
Except Christie, he is mainly attacking Trump.
That is how/why he gets paid. The media has primarily made “debates” all about themselves. It is an outdated format with too many people on stage and even the 1 on 1 debates at the end are skewed by the media”tors”.
I have no interest in watching people talk over one another. It is a $hit show. If you want to learn about a candidate I think a good relaxed 1 on 1 interview on a podcast or other medium with no yelling and interruptions or efforts to score points is the best way to do it.
Trump was wise to skip this circus.
Seriously, who cares?
Bueller?
I just don’t like to watch a bunch of losers “Massdebating”.
