Poland may attempt to extradite the 98-year-old former soldier who fought for the Nazis during World War II and was accidentally honored by Canada's parliament last week, the CBC reports.
Canadian Speaker of the House of Commons, Anthony Rota, introduced Yaroslav Hunka following Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's address to parliament. Rota referred to Hunka as a "Ukrainian hero and a Canadian hero," and said, "we thank him for his service."
Media outlets later reported that Hunka fought for the Nazi military unit known as the Waffen-SS Galicia Division, and Rota apologized for his remarks and for inviting Hunka, who lives in Canada and is a constituent of Rota's.

What’s the point?
He will face the Final Judge soon enough...
...and His righteous sentence will be far more endureling.
Yep, pretty much all Nazis are Ukrainian and Canadian Heroes.
It's a thing about Ukrainians and Canadians.
Normally, I don’t support tradition and/or prosecution of any 98 year old person, but in this case, this individual is apparently still of sound mind, and he has brought attention to himself, posing as some type of War Hero. Disgraceful.
tradition = extradition.
I don’t know.
I think you can only make the case that he’s of sound mind if you rest it on the premise that “any reasonable person would expect Canada to honor and protect Nazi war criminals.”
So, maybe you’re right! :)
There are twists and turns in events.
I’m in favor of Prosecuting Canada.
Indeed. And I think the Bee article you posted right before this one should be entered into evidence.
“The House speaker is correct. The Nazi is a Ukrainian and Canadian hero.”
This is interesting as it was the Poles who helped the men of the 14th SS Division Galicia to evade repatriation to the Soviet Union. Also, they were supposedly screened by the Canadians before being allowed entry.
From many a yardarm:
Nevertheless: The Final Judge executes a more enduring sentence for a much lower a taxpayer expense
Wow, that bit of Trudeau fakery blew up quickly.
Sorry, I don’t really buy into that Ukraine is Nazi stuff. A few cranks shouldn’t stain a whole people. That’s the stuff Democrats use against us. We got that Charlottesville lie used against us.
The 98 year old was born in 1925. In 1941 when Germany invaded Ukraine he was 16. He probably had two choices when the Germans showed up in his backyard... join or be shot. Who knows if he acted in an ethical way or did bad things because he wanted to. He was a kid and his primary goal was likely to survive.
Apparently, he managed to stay out of trouble when he was sent to Canada and he lived life in a way that made it possible for him to survive until 98. Trying to prosecute 98-year-olds when there are likely no records or witnesses that could exonerate him is not fair and just plain stupid. The people who go along with this nonsense are likely cancel culture liberal Karens.
Don’t forget about Gyorgy Schwartz!
This old coot better have made peace with our Creator. At 98 He’s going to meet Him sooner than he realizes.
