The house has had 9 months to pass something and failed. Not only that, but took four additional days off this past weekend. The senate didn’t and passed a bill. The house better wake the heck up.
Not sure what your real complaint is. Spending bills are SUPPOSED to originate in the house, not the senate. Secondly, the power of the purse is the only true power the congress has vs the executive branch, so not passing stupid spending bills is exercising power of the purse just as much as passing spending bills is. So what would you prefer to happen here?
As to house leadership needing to get its crap together and stop jerking the people they represent around, I couldn’t agree more.
It's just a continuing resolution. It's not a real bill. I am sure McCarthy is getting itchy palms wanting to go for it, but the staunch patriots are holding out for "regular order" meaning 12 seperate "normal" appropriations bills. They don't have to touch the Senate CR. Just say no, and go about doing what you are doing.
