There was an article awhile back on how one company recycles glass into sand - to be used for sand blasting.

I imagine the same is true for that operation. The company must get lots of government incentives for being green in order to stay in business. Their recycled sand must cost WAY more than just digging it up out of the ground.

Sort of like solar panel companies.
