"I see why you say not serving, like 4F and his two adult sons, is better than serving."

NOT what I said at all. You're just using your hate for Trump to overload your mouth. As for McCain, regardless of his dubious military career, the most hated thing about him was his rancid, anti-American political life.

McCain’s “dubious military career.” Always a Trumper. Are you actually saying McCain faked his being shot down over North Vietnam and his torture in a POW camp? Or, are you saying that he and naval aviators in general are supposed to be choir boys?

If you judge naval aviators harshly, how do you judge Trump who, as a mature adult, cavorted with hookers and then paid them off?

Yes, you do judge Trump and his adult sons differently from how you judge veterans. But, on the possibility I’m wrong, please explain why you accept that Trump was 4F and neither of his adult sons served in the military, and call many veterans names?

As for hating Trump, Trump is who he is. You take the good with the bad (except you don’t think he has any bad, and he himself said he never did anything bad in his life). After Trump emerged as the presumptive Republican nominee in 2016, I supported him because I’m a Republican. Ditto from the start in 2020. Trump doesn’t say he will support the nominee of the Republican Party in 2024, and right as of now, I say the same thing. You appear to have different rules for Trump and other people, so maybe you don’t think I’m allowed to have Trump’s position.

Trump once said if I wanted to be presidential, he would be the most presidential of anybody. But, clearly, he didn’t want to be presidential. He wanted to be Trump. He wasn’t interested in shoring up his image with voters not already part of his following. This is why I say he grew tired of winning. He grew tired of winning and so lost the Congress in 2018, and the White House and Senate in 2020.

Now, I’ll change gears a bit. It could be that Trump’s ability to deal with everything that comes with Presidential politics, is connecting with his base. You could see this energy at his rallies. He and the crowd invigorated each other. His rallies were lovefests. This connecting with his base might also apply to Trump’s tweets (back in the day he was on tweeter). Trump had and continues to have tremendous resilience in large part, I believe, because of his followers. We saw George W. Bush and Barack Obama both age right before our eyes while serving as President. Do you notice any such aging with Trump, because I don’t.

Trump is an amazing fellow and maybe nobody can see him for the complex person he is. There will be many more books written about him in the future than about other presidents.
