Had the lives of our and EU soldiers been our at stake, we would not be so casual about all this.
This is a war that to this day, NO ONE can articulate a true national security argument for.
It is ENTIRELY an economic and politically motivated consequence to an action on our side.
I don’t want to see anyone die, Russian or Ukrainian!
This is akin to WWI where people looking back ask, “We tumbled into a world war because one guy somewhere got shot?”
Well, likewise this is a war that isn’t about our national security, it isn’t about freedom, democracy, human rights or sovereignty. It’s a stupid war caused by us being so damn pushy, gambling with high stakes because we’re not the ones paying the ultimate price.
Another analogy: our US administration was gambling with other people’s lives, other people’s property, other people’s political futures (no different than playing roulette). We were willing to gamble far higher than what was really prudent given the probability and magnitude of what was involved.
