All eyes are on Gov. Andy Beshear’s re-election bid against GOP challenger Attorney General Daniel Cameron.
A lot of the state’s money is on it, too.
Beshear’s campaign dwarfs Cameron’s in total cash brought in and on hand, the 60 day pre-general election reports show.
The governor has brought in roughly $15 million into his general election campaign since the primary ended in mid-May compared to Cameron’s $2.8 million.

It still boggles the mind that Republicans / conservatives acting independently of the GOP have not and cannot apparently organize something like this and instead just leave the candidates twisting in the wind. This happened in 2018, 2020, 2022, and now again in 2023. You don't have to have the "donor class" to raise big money. There are almost certainly 500,000 people who could easily chip in $30 in this race, for example, if they were just told and asked.
We need to get to the point where it money is not the decider. As long as the big money can control the elections, the people will lose out.
Every time the GOP contacts me for money I say no. No to RINOs and GOPe, Chamber of Commerce doofuses, etc.
The democrats, who are all in lockstep politically, will always have a money advantage.
Give me another solution. I’m eager to hear one.
That seems to have all started with Obama where his campaign determined that getting $5.00 from a million people is just as good, and easier than getting $5,000,000 from large donors.
*Give me another solution. I’m eager to hear one.*
The turtle steps down and the state GOP nominates Cameron, Masse, and some other republican who could win. Gov. picks Cameron. Avoid the election he would win anyway. Incumbency has advantages. That plus enough republicans don’t trust blacks enough to rally behind one like democrats do. Just look at Deon.
Cameron will lose. The only consolation prize would be a SCOTUS appointment under Trump. He’s quite young for that. No guarantee he doesn’t go Roberts.
I thought the left was all about “getting the money out of politics.”
Outspending does not guarantee wins.
In May, a poll was released showing this race TIED. NO polls have been released since. Does anyone else find this odd?
Small donors are not “big money” - small donors not being organized and not acting is what allows the “big money” to control elections as candidates are completely dependent on it. And this is a completely voluntary action.
No, but it sure helps - it has in many elections. Why give the Left an advantage it need not have?
No. Because that's not true. All polls show that Empty Suit Beshear, propped up by the abortionist forces of Toxic Douchebaggery (the opposite of "Toxic Masculinity") is going to win easily, which he will.
That margin of defeat for Cameron requires the abandonment of many Republican or "independent" voters, who don't seem to be fazed by the fact that Empty Andy has vowed to defy the law and try to evade nominating a Republican if (when) Yertle the Turtle croaks or steps down before the end of his term.

Almost all of Trumps donors are small donors. He’s not dependent on anyone.
Why in God’s name didn’t the GOP encourage Rand Paul to run for Governor? This Cameron guy doesn’t stand a chance. He’s already being defined on abortion.
