I think you completely overstate the emotional stuff.

Men and women are different. We have to recognize that. Naturally, women prefer big government. We have dismantled the nuclear family. So what's left? Uncle Sam.

Nope 100% female & about as constitutional libertarian conservative as you get. Same with the sister she describes herself as a mad max conservative. She wants basically no government. Yes men and women are different. Absolutely, but its not as simple as big government. I think that’s something that men tell themselves, but if you pay attention it doesn’t break down that way. You’d probably be right in assuming women would be more supportive of child related stuff- education, day care, etc. - but we aren’t statistically inclined to support other big government initiatives any more than males. Men also have their pet issues for big government. Men historically spend copious amounts of money annually on military endeavours, spy agencies, law enforcement, etc. It’s not as easy as he’s red she’s blue. Family structure does have some bearing on both views. Married women, like myself, vote sla great deal like their husband’s. In a stable family unit where needs are being met, women & men
will vote like her spouse. As singles, with needs not being met more often than not, women will search for stability & men will opt out of participation in voting. It’s every bit as much a problem that single males are choosing to bypass all civic involvement as single female searching for support & structure in all the wrong places. I do think that once married & stable, their worldviews become very similar. It’s almost like the couple saying “don’t violate our family, our privacy, our freedoms”! 😉
