resident Biden's pick for the new chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff has been confirmed as Air Force General Charles Q. Brown, who will replace General Mark Miley.
General Milley ran into controversy after he wore 'baggy battle fatigues' in a photo-op as he walked Trump in front of St. John's Church amid a BLM protest.
New York Times reporter Robert Jimison posted to X on Wednesday and said: 'The vote to confirm General Charles Brown as the next chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff reached the 51 vote threshold. So far, both Sen. Ron Johnson and Sen. J.D. Vance are the only NO votes.'
President Biden said that he could 'think of no one better suited or more qualified to lead our forces'.
CNN reported that this news has followed Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin's recommendation to pick General Brown as the military's next top officer, according to a defense official. If confirmed, that would be the first time in US history that both the secretary of defense and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff are African American.
The Joint Chiefs chairman is the highest ranking military officer in the country, who serves as the main military advisor to the US president, secretary of defense and the National Security Council.
Brown will be taking over Army General Mark Milley who has been in the role since 2019. Back in 2020 Milley was in the hot seat as he joined Trump in a walk that quickly turned controversial.
'I should not have been there. My presence in that moment and in that environment creates a perception of the military involved in domestic politics,' said Milley in a video address to National Defense University.
ABC News reported that following this moment, Milley considered resigning but decided to stay...

DIE run amok.
Ironically. I expect within 6 months or less, General Charlie Brown’s most often heard lament will be as follows:
“Why’s everybody always pickin’ on me?”
And how come there is a noose in my pit garage

Have they claimed his appointment is “historical” yet? Just wondering if they’ve forgotten General Powell already. They have a tendency to do that.
Oh my god its Scatman Crothers?
If General Brown begins working closely with VP Kamala, that will confirm what his ‘general’ outlook on America’s military is; everything will be Race Focused. He may surprise everyone, though. Most of us do not really know General Brown very well just yet.
I have heard that in the past, he has said there were ‘too many’ white officers in the armed services, and the fact that these white officers were still in positions of authority, was ‘problematic’.
Maybe he’ll try to change. I can only hope.
I wonder whose butt he kissed. Wait, don’t answer that.
You know, you’re right! 👍
Racist trouble making loser with a chip on his shoulder ten times bigger than his head and a vendetta against whites.
This is why Clarence Thomas is against affirmative action. He may be a capable officer. But we will question his abilities because of Biden Administration’s desire to fulfill racial quotas.
Are Latinos, the nation's largest minority ethnic group, feeling totally ignored by Democrats yet?
There be a lot of darts and farts on that service cap.
This racist POS has publically publically stated that he believes our military has too many white males (Heterosexual Christian males in particular) and that he fully intends to reduce the number of White, heterosexualnmales in the officer corps in favor of racial minorities, females, homosexuals and transgendered.
If he is allowed to proceed with his plan, our military will no longer be a meritocracy. Instead it will be the world’s largest and most expensive affirmative action program and will be every bit as efficient, effective and capable as the USPS or your local DMV office.
Let that sink in.
Charlie Brown who sees Racism everywhere. Seems like a PERFECT fit for Biden administration.
I like Pink Floyd, too. ;-)
Does Charlie Brown control the nuclear football?
