Former President Donald Trump is intensifying his campaign efforts in Iowa, in a bid to “put the nail in the coffin” of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’s campaign, with his campaign reporting over 27,500 signed caucus pledge cards in the state, while Team DeSantis stands at just over 13,000.
Trump is currently in Iowa by around 30 points, though his campaign staff insist they are not “taking anything for granted” with remarks planned for the Grand River Conference Center in Dubuque this Wednesday.
DeSantis’ Never Back Down SuperPAC has outspent the pro-Trump MAGA Inc. PAC by $15.6 million to $2.9 million – or over five times over.
Opponents of Trump are targeting evangelical voters in the state, attempting to portray the 45th President as pro-transgender and LGBT. Campaign mailers have hit some Iowa homes calling Trump a “transgender trailblazer”. Despite the attacks, polls show evangelical voters still prefer Trump.
“No candidate has ever won Iowa [GOP caucus] by more than 12 points and even the most conservative polls have us at double that margin,” said Alex Latcham, the Trump campaign’s early states director. “But I try to continuously remind our team and our staff and everybody that we do not take it for granted.”
Too many of us now know which folks are a part of the swamp.
DeSantis gets his money from them.
We’re tired of the super rich/elite people choosing our candidates for us.
No more!!
Are the Iowa Republicans still demanding the rest of us drive on corn syrup?
Reb! May be forced out before Iowa.
DeSantis gets his money from them.

Perfect post. Indeed, Meatball is “spending’ the week down in Texas pumping the Bush cartel for donations, even including those who were behind the now-failed AG Ken Paxton impeachment/conviction attempt.
Meathead totally flunks the character test IMO!!!
This fundraising is not campaigning. It’s getting money for campaign staff who OF COURSE will never recommend dropping out. That would drop out their paychecks.
The Swamp is an ugly thing. This performance by Trump of running up support threatens the very structure of the campaign staff industry. They are a huge part of the Swamp.
So of course they don’t want the Swamp drained.
Poorly written article. The source says they just need a second place finish in Iowa and they Trump can’t get more than 28% in NH. Delusional. If Trump wins Iowa no one is going to even care to cover the 2nd and 3rd place speeches. That doesn’t result in you pulling in NH a week later. Maybe if you are off by 1% but if the lead is greater than 5%, good luck. Also, why would others drop out of SC when they are polling better than Mr. 8th day? Delusional. The only way to win, is to win.
In June, Trump led Biden 45%-39%.
Trump’s exchange at meet the press was a master class on discussing the abortion issue. He had the Democrat, well interviewer but we’re splitting hairs, on the defensive. “No one wants that”. Actually they do, the Former Governor of VA said..., yea only a few people want that excuse me, this is radical, why would you want to kill a baby in the 7th, 8th, 9th months and even after birth, sir, that’s not what they are saying, actually they are, you look at the Govenor of VA, Democrat...That’s horrible, we’re going to find a right number, but now we can negotiate, Democrats want to kill the baby in the 9th month. This was a glorious, glory exchange. I know you probably don’t like Trump but just for a moment step out of that, remember how these conversations usually play out and go watch that exchange again. For once is wasn’t a Republican defending rape and incest. It was glorious. You don’t have to agree with Trumps position here to acknowledge it was masterful.
DeSantis has run a pretty awful (and quite embarrassing) campaign
it will be well when he quiets down and returns to his job in Florida
Thank you for the link. My knowledge is lacking when it comes to Goldwater. His words might have been written for today’s situation, wise & incisive.
Great article. I hope take advantage of the link.
Whets my appetite to learn more about Goldwater.
correction:
I hope many take advantage of the link
Iowa part time resident here.
Printed stuff: I only see door-knob propaganda from Pence. Could be just one acolyte locally doing that.
Only seeing Television Commercials from Nikki Haley and Tim Scott.
Don’t listen to terrestrial radio so can’t comment on that.
