Fact-checkers revise narrative on Biden’s role in firing Ukraine prosecutor as new evidence emerges
Just the News ^ | 9/15/23 | By Steven Richards

Four years after the Hunter Biden scandal first burst into the limelight, news media fact-checkers are still revising their narratives. Once declarative in their findings, the latest fact checks have begun to hedge and equivocate in the face of contradictory evidence uncovered by Congress and open-records litigation.

The freshest example surfaced Friday when The Washington Post’s Glenn Kessler updated his reporting on how Joe Biden as vice president came to withhold $1 billion in U.S. loan guarantees in late 2015 to force the firing of Ukrainian prosecutor whose office was investigating the Burisma Holdings energy firm that employed Hunter Biden.

Citing documents uncovered by Just the News, Kessler admitted for the first time that Joe Biden may have “called an audible,” or changed the plan, on the firing of Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin on his way to Kyiv aboard Air Force Two in December 2015.

This month, Just the News reported newly uncovered State Department and European Union documents, both of which indicated that Ukraine had made adequate progress in its anti-corruption reforms, including within its Prosecutor General’s Office. “Ukraine has made sufficient progress on its reform agenda to justify a third [loan] guarantee” and “the anti-corruption benchmark is deemed to have been achieved,” the State Department Interagency Policy Committee and the EU European Commission confirmed, respectively.

The media has moved the goal-posts so far downfield they are no longer in sight. And they will keep moving them as more evidence of Joe Biden's corruption is revealed.

The media is not interested in the truth. It is only interested in preserving a power structure that they are ideologically and financially aligned with.

Well, that may be, but does their business model survive no senscient viewership?

the American mainstream media—the legacy networks, MOST of the cable networks (sadly Fox is becoming or has become mainstream in its corporate suites), the print and its internet arms, and 99% of the local media (print and radio and broadcast—owned by corporate groups and/or leftist private entities) have almost completely abandoned objective journalism.

Fealty to a left-wing narrative is the habit in media these days. Nothing else even fits the world view.

Young people trained in “journalism” schools aren’t given a dose of true understanding of history, economics, civics, literature. They’re taught how to write an interesting sentence and how to repeat what they’re told by “authorities”. Thinking, reasoning, asking questions is NOT part of their training.

and the cycle downward continues. This is like the book of Judges in the Bible. The spiral goes down...once in a while a hero arises, sets things right for a time, and then when they’re off the scene, back to the commode goes society.

“does their business model survive no senscient viewership?”

***********

Their business model is built around a cozy relationship with the powers that be. The media is treated to all manner of news scoops from government insiders. Favorable coverage begets more favors.

There’s a floor on how low viewership can go in my view. A good percentage of the population leans Left and is basically clueless with respect to the daily barrage of propaganda thrown at them. They will follow the MSM “news” like lemmings regardless of how questionable, biased or untruthful the stories are.

You’re looking at things and asking questions from a common sense perspective. Our society and system doesn’t work on that basis anymore. In a normal world the MSM outlets would no longer be in business because they produce a faulty product that misleads people. The “news” media is not the only thing we keep in business despite their obvious failures. We seem to have a very high tolerance for dysfunctional things these days. Just saying.

What a joke. Traitor Joe bragged about extorting Ukraine to get the prosecutor fired. In a public venue on video.

Never made any sense that he focused on firing that prosecutor and tied it to an aid package.

Four years after the Hunter Biden scandal first burst into the limelight...

And resulted in the impeachment of the President who tried to do something about it.

Yup - maybe that's what they meant by "calling an audible". Because it was certainly loud and unmistakable.

Funny, I used that exact phrase in a post from August 26, 2023:

So the take-away from this story (and the upcoming part 2 from John Solomon) is that the State Department was negotiating with the Ukraine Government to give them a new loan and were on track to complete the deal when Biden unilaterally made the loan contingent on the firing of Shokin?

The State Department was caught off-guard when Biden "called an audible" at the last minute but were now stuck with it?

I assume we're going to find out in part 2 that Biden did this to protect the Biden Crime Family's source of income from Burisma?

Somebody out there must be reading my posts...

An "audible" is sports reporting terminology for a football quarterback reacting to changing conditions on the field and calling a new play - something contrary to what the coach expects him to do.

In this context, it infers that Joe was winging it and that Obama didn't approve it.

Remember in that notorious video of dumb Joe bragging, he mention Obama as knowing the plan. This was no audible. That would suggest dumb Joe going rogue. Uh, no.

This is an attempt to separate Obama from this.

The dems will adjust the line of the day, daily.

It started out as He didn’t talk to nobody.

Then it was No evidence.

Then it was No direct evidence.

Then it was No hard evidence.

Using the left’s standard of evidence, no one would ever be convicted of a crime.

“Ukraine has made sufficient progress on its reform agenda to justify a third [loan] guarantee” and “the anti-corruption benchmark is deemed to have been achieved,”

That was the problem. An anti-corruption prosecutor was investigating Burisma and Hunter Biden. Corruption had to be maintained to keep the Biden cash flowing.

Kessler admitted for the first time that Joe Biden may have “called an audible,” or changed the plan, on the firing of Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin

Sounds like Coach Obama is reving up the team bus to run over the completely rogue, working on his own, in no way sharing the kickbacks with the DNC quarterback Biden.
