Do you recall the days when a celebrity endorsement actually meant something? It’s a journey back in time, but there was an era when a celebrity’s words carried a lot of influence, and people paid attention to what they said. I understand that might sound somewhat unbelievable, given the current landscape we’re in. Celebrities have plummeted in the ranks to the point where folks often do the exact opposite of what Hollywood elites suggest just to snub their noses at them.
There was a poll conducted in 2019 about “celebrity influence” and how it was significantly dropping. Imagine how much worse these numbers are now in 2023, after all the TDS and social justice nonsense that’s unfolded.
...
A large majority of registered voters say political endorsements from celebrities have no impact on their voting, according to a new poll.
A Hill-HarrisX survey released Friday found that 65 percent of respondents said political pronouncements from Hollywood stars have no bearing on their decisions at the ballot box.
Twenty-four percent said endorsements would make them less likely to vote for a particular candidate, while 11 percent said the celebrity endorsements made them more likely to vote a certain way.
...
There are many reasons for this shift, with one of the key reasons being the impact of social media. You see, when celebrities have the freedom to express themselves without the watchful eye, filter, and guidance of publicists, most of them stumble. That’s precisely what’s happened with many of today’s celebrities — they’ve destroyed their reputations on social media because they don’t know how to behave without a team of PR professionals telling them what to say and do.
Another significant reason for their decline is politics. Thanks to their Stage 5 Trump Derangement Syndrome, celebrities haven’t just dipped their toes into politics; they’ve literally gone off the deep end in the most irrational and hysterical ways imaginable. Politics and social justice have driven a major wedge between Hollywood and their fan base. What complicates matters even further is how completely out-of-touch with the general public most celebrities are nowadays. They know nothing about us, yet believe they have the magic formula to tell us how to live and what to believe in. It’s infuriating, especially coming from such deviant, godless ghouls. Fortunately for us, these self-absorbed elites are beginning to grasp reality, largely thanks to the force of social media and the collective pushback against them. But this public awakening has caught a lot of them off guard.
One prime example of this surprise is Oprah Winfrey, who recently faced tremendous backlash when she and “The Rock” – two exceedingly wealthy elites – had the audacity to request contributions from hardworking Americans to aid Maui residents. Of course, we want to help, but most Americans are trying to muck their way through Biden’s horrific economy, complete with soaring inflation, job layoffs, and stagnant wages. So, maybe the bazillionaires, could step up and take one for the team? What makes matters worse is that Oprah and many of her rich friends have been buying up native land all over Maui.
...
Now, Oprah is suddenly “shocked” to find out that regular folks aren’t exactly thrilled about getting guilted by super-rich, out-of-touch elites.
Colin Rugg, the co-founder of Trending Politics had this to say about Oprah’s “shock”:
Oprah says she was really sad after the backlash she faced after donating $10M to Maui fire victims with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.
“It made me sad that we are at this state in our country.”
Oprah, who is worth $2.8B, said she was just trying to be like Dolly Parton.
“So, we thought, $10 million, we start off the fun, we’ll do what Dolly did, get other people to give money and then we’ll put it directly into the people’s bank accounts.”
“I was so excited about it, and then I got up the next morning, and I saw all of this vitriol and I was like, ‘Whoa, what happened here?’”
...
Elites like Oprah need to face the undeniable truth – “celebrity fan culture” is fading into the twilight. In this era, what people crave is honesty, integrity, and depth. There’s nothing we love more than watching these clueless elites get owned.
...
Hollywood’s immorality and its culture of deviance fall painfully short in fulfilling what Americans are yearning for today.
Really big in the 80’s. American women identified with her. Made a lot of money. Too many old millionaires out there with plenty of time that don’t know what to do with themselves.
Oh, it has plenty of influence on my voting - tells me who NOT to vote for.
I'd never, ever vote for anyone endorsed by the likes of Oprah.
Orca is the most overrated person in my lifetime.
snip:
The phrase “Oh How the Mighty Have Fallen” comes from the story of David, during Saul, Jonathan, and Israel’s battle against the Philistines. The death of Saul and Jonathan ends the battle of Israel and the Philistines. After hearing the news, David laments and sings, “How the mighty have fallen.”
Oprah introduced Obama to the world so ya no one likes her
Oprah was the first major recipient of “magic negro” worship, which later on greatly benefited Barry Soetero aka Obama... they can do nothing wrong and you are not allowed to criticize them for anything they do.
99% of the responders polled said they couldn’t lift her off the ground either.
Can’t get South Park depiction out of my head.
back when Trump was going to be the candidate for the reform party he said that Oprah would be his perfect running mate ...
LOL! One of our ‘aids/guides’ to voting is to drive by the union halls. And in the last couple of weeks we’ve seem quite a few ads with union folks (IBEW specifically) touting all the awesome stuff branDUHn has done and will continue to do. FIDIOTS!
People who watch Okra are not normal.
I never liked her even when she had that TV show.
All other things being equal, would Oprah have been as popular and wealthy if she had been White, Hispanic, or Asian?
I never liked this cloying, smarmy skank!
Maybe Oprah is still depressed because she has been oppressed. You know, like the “Royals.”
See, it's your fault you just don't understand how great I am. Oprah conned a whole lot of people into believing she was one thing, collected billions, and then revealed who she really was. She has a lot in common with Obama who did the exact same thing.
I’ve never understood people latching onto what these celebrities say and do. It’s like they’ve stepped down from Mt Olympus. Never forget these people make a living pretending.
Dope-rah
