TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) — Kansas will no longer change transgender people’s birth certificates to reflect their gender identities, the state health department said Friday, citing a new law that prevents the state from legally recognizing those identities.
The decision from the state Department of Health and Environment makes Kansas one of a handful of states that won’t change transgender people’s birth certificates. It already was among the few states that don’t change the gender marker on transgender people’s driver’s licenses.
Jaelynn Abegg, a 38-year-old Wichita resident, said her heart breaks for fellow transgender Kansas residents who won’t be able to experience the joy she felt when her new birth certificate, affirming her female identity, arrived in the mail in 2021. She said the change gave her “a feeling completeness.”
“This is something that I’ve been grappling with my entire life. As far back as I can remember, I have wished that I was that I was a woman,” Abegg said. “And being able to embrace that and take that for myself has been has been life changing.”
Trangender Kansas residents also have said repeatedly in interviews that having ID documents that conflict with their identities makes traveling by airplane, interacting with police and even using a credit card in stores more complicated. Also, studies show that transgender people who don’t have their identities affirmed, especially youth, generally are more prone to depression and at a higher risk of suicide.

I knew these fake documents would start popping up once the people in this country started accepting fake news as real. Now, the so-called “media” is nothing but FAKE NEWS. ALL OF IT. Why not fake birth certificates, marriage licenses, passports and other phony BS?
Next step should be: licensed doctors will no longer be allowed to sexually mutilate children. I can’t believe they are allowed to do that now.
If you are born a male, despite any mental issues, you are still and always be a male.
We need to totally upend millennia of human experience so Jaelynn can have “a feeling completeness.”

Amazing how the word “identity” has changed meaning. Originally it meant “who you are,” “your very being,” something that could never be changed.
Today it has come to mean the opposite: “who you think you are.”
The brutes. They refuse to support a psychotic lie by covering up and destroying the public records they have been legally entrusted with keeping and making available to the citizens (which is to say, their bosses)?
If other states have been doing what Kansas refuses to do, there are potentially only a few elections between us and Animal Farm. I'm thinking of the first signs that appear of oncoming thought-control and massacres of dissidents. In the book, it's when the pigs in charge start sneaking by night with buckets of paint to the side of the barn where the laws and principles were painted for all to see after their revolution.
After months piecemeal editing under cover of darkness, the many principles painted on that barn--the animals' Bill of Rights, in effect--were altered or erased one at a time. Any pig who noticed, and asked if one of two of the principles didn't seem to be missing from the list was dismissed as being simply old, blind, and forgetful.
By the end of this process, only one statement remained on the barn. As I recall, it said, "Slavery is Freedom."
Maybe some "studies show" this, but I have seen studies which show those who undergo hormone treatment and surgery are just as, or more prone to suicide than those who do not.
I agree that they should be able to change their gender to one of the following 5 options:
Mentally-ill
Nutcase
Dirtbag
Lowlife
Subhuman
Anyone that has a desire to either cut off his penis or sew up her vagina is mentally disturbed and needs to be locked up in a mental institution, not only their safety, but for society’s safety as well.
This gender change is actually also medically dangerous.
There are pills and treatment reserved or differentiated among sexes. It does not matter, whatever the person thing it is, they must be treated according to their real sex.
There have been cases of people dying because they were treated according to their assumed identity!
It’s not the kids who are ‘not affirmed’ who commit suicide. The threat of suicide is what the medical mutilators use to coerce parents into putting their confused kids on puberty blockers & often, shortly thereafter, surgery to remove healthy tissues/organs. Puberty blockers cause kids to become ‘stuck’, unable to have a normal puberty. The majority of kids who are allowed to have a normal puberty are no longer confused and do not ‘transition’.

Activists tell kids their loving homes are “unsafe” when parents voice doubts about the child’s new identity. For refusing to see their son as their daughter, parents might be reported to protective services, a development that can lead to a family’s destruction.

Back to who ‘suicides’ .... it’s the people who undergo trans surgery and find out that not only does it not relieve them of their mental issues, but they are now pretty much a medical patient for life with drugs, surgeries to correct what is not healing, working, etc. John’s Hopkins, some years ago, quit doing reassignment surgery because the results were a much higher level of suicide among these patients. No idea about their current policy.
Kansas is becoming bluer and bluer. I don’t see my county (Johnson) ever going back to red, and my small city is being infiltrated by libs. I swear, they are like cockroaches. You can’t get rid of them and they keep multiplying. I love Kris Kobach. He’s a true conservative and the RINOs and libs hate him.
KU/Lawrence and unions are what is screwing up Kansas.
